Throttle body plate drilling...

Okay so next week i'm putting a cam in my SS, and after much research i was on LS1helptech.com and found on one of the forums an old school trick for smoothing out the idle. Apparently "drilling a small hole in the bottom the throttle plate no greater than 1/4 of and inch. But... again that was an LS1 with a throttle cable. I know this works in the older carb motors, but how much does it help with the LS3 where it's a drive by wire system? I would think that the ECU take care of opening the throttle body plate to level out idle, regardless of cam lobe size... well... with in reason of course.

Please if anyone has done this, let me know your experience and if this has worked for you!

Ideas, hints, tips are welcome....

Just get an intake and a tune. The Car's Computer is learning your driving habits so make sure your teaching Her right. Also If you barely floor it a little instead of just punching it you"ll get a better jump. The throttle is a computerized and I think it takes longer for the computer to register a "Floor it" than to "Throttle Engage" if that makes sense. It may be trying to protect the engine. I love this freakin car. It's a monster

Do not drill the throttle body.. That was something we did in 2001 when tuning was not available. With todays cars you can control the throttle opening for idle. By drilling the hole you might screw up something.
