Uhh you should probably wait though I don't see any harm from putting on an intake now. The MAF sensor should compensate for the increased air flow.

My car has 250 miles on it and I'm hoping to put mine on this weekend if it arrives in time.

Does CAI have an effect on gas mileage either way?

Most likely it will decrease it a slight bit. Colder air is more dense, your car will need to add more fuel for the proper air/fuel ratio. Hence the reason for the CAI in the first place.

I'm not sure as to how much of a difference it makes in your MPGs though...

I've only had mine on for about a week so I can't give you a definate answer but alot of people are saying that they are seeing a 1-2mpg increase.
