problem with sub install

i tried hooking up a rockfost punch 900 and did the hook through the
DYI article on this site. everything went well till i hook the rca plug that i hooked up (just did the right side and spliced in to the dark blue wire for + and the tan wire for - ) when i turned the amp on there was a loud high pitch tone from rear stock speakers... Now the wierd thing is i took the -off the tan wire and it worked?????

i have two 10 inch subs and i used a double male plug to plug into my left and right channel on amp. and just running off the + only on right side of vehicle oem amp..

what am i doing wrong???

thanks

Clint

Do you have the Boston Acoustic factory system? How about pics of how you set up off the speaker wires?

You need to make sure you aren't grounded elsewhere, that you got the lowlevel side and that you aren't back feeding. Almost sounds like you are grounding somewhere else, if you grabbed the right wires, and causing a backfeed.
