Cool, I live on Jefferson Hwy. Probably about 10 min from LSU or so.

I'm in Baton Rouge and I have a 2SS/RS on order, red jewel tintcoat, black leather. I drive a '04 Silverado 2500 HD crew cab, duramax diesel (modified) and in the garage I have a '96 Impala SS, BBB, heavily modified. This will be my first Camaro.

lafayette here, i order 2SS/RS stick shift. polished wheels, hurst short throw shifter, Silver ice metalic.. but might change to CGM if we ever get to see it before they start production.. but anyway nice to meet everyone and maybe we can all meet up somewhere once we get our cars?

whats up dudes this is actually my first post. i stay in haughton, about 15 minutes from shreveport. as of now i have a red 92 rs. i was gonna do a 350 with it. after finding out about this forum and learning about the new one, i said to hell with that. mines gonna be a black 2ss with rs package, ground effects, a manual tranny, dont know about what wheels or about stripes yet. id really be stoked if they decided to build the z28.

i actually work a lot in shreveport mostly at the bossier courthouse so im there pretty much all week.. i had a 94 v6 and i wanted to put a 350 in it but i saw all the hassle it was to switch over .. and ever since i saw the new concept i had to have this car.. i want black but i will be using this car as an everyday driver back and fourth to shreveport and its really hard to keep the black looking good. so i am goin with SIM which always looks clean . i have that color on my truck right now and i dont think i've washed it in months and you really can't tell well accept for the dirty wheels. and this is one of my first post too.. so welcome to the forum and i hope we can get some more people from Louisiana to chime in and let their faces be seen.

mine is gonna be the daily driver too. i sold the 92 camaro to my sister to get ready to order a fifth-gen. im goin to the military in three months anyway. after basic training im going to order mine. your right engine swaps suck. it sucks especially hard if your going from a v6 to a v8. is black really that hard to keep nice? maybe ill have to get an older Silverado to beat around in.

I am in Baton Rouge. Are any of ya'll in south Louisiana intrested in meeting up once a month at the Gerry Lane Super Cruise Night at the Tanger Mall in Gonzales? We can all park our Camaros together and visit. It is the 3rd Saturday of each month from 5:00 - 8:30 PM (March - October). I use to do this with a Impala SS group back in the mid to late 90's. Was always lots of fun. Lots of good gearhead talk.

I'd be interested in going to the Gerry Lane Cruise Night at the Tanger Outlet Mall with my camaro. I didn't know there was such a thing here - I figured there would be something but didn't know when/where.
Anyway, sounds cool if there was a few of us camaro owners going. I had a similar meet thing in Scotland when I owned my Saab turbo and Mercedes SLC.
I've not got my camaro on the road at the moment as I'm busy buying a house, but I'd bring it on the road for the 3rd Saturday in April if enough of us committed to going.

Hi Pookie...I doubt any of us in the BR area will have their Camaros for the April Cruise. Maybe late Spring early Summer we will have a nice group of local owners. I hope mine arrives in May. I am 7th on the pre-order list out of 24 at my dealer. I hope we can get a nice group of new (and older) Camaro owners in this area together for cruise nights. Maybe start a local club? I may try to put a e-mail list of intrested owners in this area, so we can stay in touch and announce car events. Thanks for your intrest.

Hey everybody I'm over in madisonville (near mandeville) and just saw this thread and decided to make my presence known. I just wanted to poke in and say hey. To all of you Baton rouge people. Keep your car locked and in a safe place. I had a 99 SS that got stolen TWICE. Stolen once from New Orleans while I was gone on Christmas vacation. They recovered it and then it got stolen again (this time from Baton Rouge) when I was on my honeymoon. Now I am driving a 91 Z28 that nobody will steal because its kind of crappy. I'm waiting on the 5th gen. I don't know what for yet but I'm waiting. Maybe the Z28, convertible, heads up display, full ambient lighting I'm just waiting.
Also for the LSU peeps. I will be in Baton Rouge tomorrow defending my Thesis for my masters in ME. Wish me luck.
