Estimated life expectancy of tires on the SS with hotcam?

Like what, 200 miles?

sorry, I couldn't resist... I am just getting so antsy waiting for this car.

I'd count it in time. I'm guessing 15 minutes.

Forget the hotcam. MS4.

And on the stock 20s?

I'd say 5 minutes.

What you all should do is don't do burnouts like that in your car...It hurts various parts/componets on your car!!! Not to mention shreds tires. the smartest way to go would be to just wait til the life of the tires have almost expired then show out

This is the system for my old camaro, that car made the straightest two lines that your eyes would have ever seen.

i'm sure a stock ls3 can do the job of melting the tires just fine w/o a cam.

I'd rather bolt-on a SC than getting into the engine. However, a cam would be cheaper, and there's nothing like a big lope from a big V8

TLE (tire life expectancy) is directly proportional to LIF (lead in foot) true fact look it up.

Yah, who's gonna wait 1.5 to 2 years to do some burnouts with this beast?

I wonder how many people will forget to turn off their stability control, try to do a burnout, then take the car to the dealer and tell them there definitely something wrong with the engine - not enough power to do burnouts!

wouldn't that be traction control?
or is stabilitrac all in one big on/off switch

Traction control and stabilitrac are all under one big switch (literally and figuratively - the switch is really big, right in front of the gear shift on the console).

It turns everything but the ABS on/off.

Probibly 3 years for a normal person, and perhaps 2 years less for the car witha hot cam (cuz the mentatity will be totally different) , now for the guy who thinks a cam alone will give him 50 more HP on a already well cammed engine, well its anybodys guess

Alignment specs also play a part in how long the tires will last.....

If the factory alignment specs call for more negative toe-in up front and camber in the rear for tighter straight line and more bite in corners, you can expect lower tread life even when driving easy. The tires will be in constant battle with the pavement, giving you more feel and control but wearing out the tires in the process.

Cam or not, high gas prices or not, even excessive wear on the drive-train will not stop me from layin' lot of rubber with the 2010 Camaro, i mean i do 400 foot drags with my 2000 and nearly 600 foot with my 95, whats to say i wont shoot for 800 feet with the 2010, plus i wanna see 170+. i estimate my tires will be gone before i even leave the lot, i've already told the owner and he said hed have some new back tires waiting and an area roped off for the burnouts
