For paint....we are going to tint the clear with a mandarin orange colour that should give a "butterscotch" colour to the car...similar to the Transformers car.

We will be doing all the car..including under hood BUT...not the wheels or calipers. I'm not sure I'm convinced on that decision but Iggy is reassuring that it will be fine and he has my confidence.

I have also elected to get the interior done later then sooner given there is no way to get done by the show season. I have been in touch with DSV Customs, from here on the board, for a special steering wheel and seat combination but he sys it will take 4 -5 weeks.

On Monday they will cut the hole in the hood for the window, chemically strip the paint off the roof (it is HARD paint, sanding it was taking FOREVER), start to laminate the spoiler to the trunk and get the remaining interior pieces covered in yellow kevlar.

I must say...I keep going out to the garage and looking at those wheels....Brings a great big grin to my face every time.

Oh and a price list to do the work.
Talked to Steve the other day at Daveport. Getting ready to order the SC. Very nice guy can't wait to see the shop. Gonna do the install myself with the hand held tune. Then have Steve do the tune add add some more ponys for me via CAI and other goodies!
REALLY interested what them wheels cost and the Ground fx buy the time you got them to your house.

Wow. This is awesome. The member Journal area is so fun to keep track of because we get to see cars come together like this. Me? I'm just piddling compared to you and Speedster.

Still fun though.

Will this car end up at C5Fest II?

DEFINATELY if it is on the West Coast...possibly into the middle of the continent.....

If it on the East Coast......that is a long drive from Vancouver BC. I'll have to think about it.

I did not get to see the car the last couple of days but progress is coming.

Roof has been stripped and the CF layed down today. Also, the MPD spoiler has been glued to the stock trunk and molded to create one piece. Laying the CF on the trunk tomorrow.

I have to try and get in touch with DSV Customs again on the interior options.

You have that right. We had decided to go CF along the top of the car with yellow rally stripes.....I just saw the new T3 Bumblebee.....

I want to go on record....I was going to do it FIRST. LOL

Actually T3 BB has a single strip...I'm doing the two stripes.

You know what it is like Gary....to do it right takes a lot of time.

I think there are four coats of resin on the roof. Will end up with another three or four coats of clear.

Sorry....I should clarify....its EPOXY that is coating all the cf surfaces....NOT resin.

I saw the trunk today. One final coat of epoxy to go. They are now ready to start putting clear on all the surfaces. Then they will install the door poppers to shave the handles. They are also doing a little 'detail' on the rear fenders to blend the spoiler. Then off to paint.

I'll tell you this now...there is a LOT of time (and hence money) in these CF modifications....

Updated pictures. First look of the window hood on the car. You can see the Kevlar fuel rail covers. Roof has had final clear coat prep. Just need to block sand the final pin hole repairs before it goes to the paint booth.

Interior pieces are done except for final clear coat.

Now that the roof is done they can take off the masking materials and can do the shaved handles and popper kit.

Suppose to go the paint shop next week. HOPEFULLY another week and it will be back....just in time for the Vancouver rainy season.

Well: No pictures. They have been taken in "large" format and I have no idea how to resize them to a resolution that you can upload. I have looked around Windows Photo Gallery and "Digital Professional Photo" software I have but nowhere can I see how to save them as a different resolution.

:(

Its been quite enlightening to be able to go visit the car everyday and to truly appreciate what goes into this. The TIME...the patience...the process to do it "right".....I had no real idea.

I suspect that in this next week as most of the preparation and fabrication is concluded it will seem to get completed quickly as everything comes together for the finishing. I can't wait to bolt those wheels on.

Unfortunately pictures do not do justice to the CF work that has been done.

That being said....Iggy knows (and is the first to remind me)...this car is being done "right"....it can't be rushed and corners cut. It will spoil the end result.
