Thumbs up GMPP Exhaust

Happy Easter everyone. Yesterday, I had the dealer install the GMPP Exhaust #92206992 and I am really impressed. I bought the kit off of eBay for $500 and the dealer charged me $100 to install it. The tech called me over after he cut the first muffler off to show me how big they were and how much water/condensation was inside. When he poured it out a bet a quart of water came out! On the other side, when he cut it off, the top side of the muffler was all dented in. You could not tell from below until he took it off. Once again, it was full of water. All in all it took them about 30 minutes to install both sides. I was in the waiting area when he started it up and I could tell a huge difference right away. Once they pulled it around in the garage, I could tell that I was going to be happy. I drove it all day and really like the sound. My wife also said it sounds really good. I drive a Sierra Denali with the 6.2 and the factory exhaust on that sounds great. Now, I can also say that about the Camaro. I drove on the highway last night and they are still really quiet inside and no real drone to speak of. Also, with this set, I can no longer see the mufflers from the back side. Just thought I would share my experience with the group. I have learned a lot from this site and I thought maybe this would help someone else decide if they were on the fence. Have a great holiday.

Nice, is your car an A6? If so how does it sound with the AFM, and did you get the off road exhaust.

Hi guys. My car is an A6. I got the street legal version due to the county that I live in requires an emissions inspection. You do notice it gets quieter when the AFM kicks in. Just a litte gas though and it roars back up! The service department told me that GMPP parts do not alter the warranty. Thanks,

Chip

Chip, thanks for the review, considering GMPP myself down the road... Any video? Would you say the volume level is pretty similar to that of the Denali, or just the tone?

Hi Revo1. The volume level is very similar to my 2008 Denali and the tone is very similar is well. You really hear the difference when you start it. My Denali is quieter. I did not shoot any video but I can. Someone would need to walk me through on how to post it. I really like this mod. Chip

Thanks for the info

I had called the GM Renaissance Center a couple weeks ago and they confirmed that if I use GMPP and in particular have the install done by the dealer, it does not affect the warranty.

Any Cat back system will come with it's own warrantee from ANY aftermarket exhaust company. And they DO NOT void anything on the original GM warrantee, EXCEPT the warrantee of the Cat Back system, which would now be covered by the exhaust manufacturer.

I have the M6 with the offroad GMPP axle back. This is to tie me overuntil I get a full exhaust with my supercharger install...

I've had huge compliments on the sound. I do get a little drone on the highway at crusing speeds, but not so bad that it bothers me, and I just turn the radio up if it does... My wife, previously (a cars are for getting from here to there) person loves the sound and has become a huge car fan as well...

Hey Revo, I know you are waiting impatiently, but I did not get the video done today... I installed my CAI, and then got to painting my radiator cover, and then started painting the garage, and then had to clean up for easter dinner with the neighbors, and then..............I'll try again tomorrow, after the cars' puter figures out what to do with the additional air coming at it...
