Okay Gentlemen.. Home made CAI redo, check it out.

Removed my stock washer fluid, like that bad ass systems I have seen. Extended the filter to behind the bumper. Ruled out trying to build myself a heat shield. This was much easier and only $50 more the the tube, and smaller washer fluid reservoir.

Bash it or praise, I can take both well... And it ultimately helps.

Do you have a pic of the filter? Is it a cone type? How does your car run?bv

K&N 4 inch i have old post of when it was off to the side. I have dyno results that are STD settings not SAE..... that say 402rwhp. I cut my cats, borla worthless loud exhaust... (GMPP track pack) and now I have a Diablo. It runs amazing. Extremely fast, and much better than stock.

If you want to build CAIs for this car dude you've got to be like every other company and make some sort of claims. I don't understand why you keep posting this stuff without doing some data logs. You go through all this trouble to make it, show us what it does, I could care less how it looks. Looks like a CAI.

I like it; especially if you feel it in your butt dyno.

Claim, its sweet... I would love to bolt on the stock box and run it, then bolt on mine and run it on the dyno. But I am a 24 yr old trying to make my car faster.. One more claim, my dyno results do not have a baseline but are reading 402 STD.

If i had the money to spend $300 on the manufactured cai i would have. If i had the money to please you and run a shit-ton of dyno results i would too. I tint windows and have bills and shit.

Final result, my car is faster. More responsive. If I had the data logger for my predator I would even log real time data of mass air flow temp and the other air flow readings. With the filter down low behind the bumper average temp is below 40* C....

What else is there to say besides.... HAVE YOU SEEN THE STOCK INTAKE. Reduce restriction, increase the ability to bring in cooler air, well shit COLD AIR INTAKE....

And I will keep posting

you might want to check out the filter area after you have driven the vehicle in heavy rains or after driving on a road that had a good amount of standing water on it. If your getting water spray from the wheel well or through the radiator support and grill in that area, that wouldn't be desirable.

That is my really only concern. Ideally I would love to never drive in the rain, my stock Pirelli's are soooo bald. Tires HAS to be my next investment.

A for effort.

You still need to monitor and record your fuel trims to get to the real data wether or not this system is working to it's full potential.

IAT data would also be very useful especially when sitting in traffic. then compare to stock box.

-2 to 0 for the fuel trims right??? bank 1 and 2.. I have adjusted the injector slope to bring it from around -7 average to 0 avg, sometimes dropping down to -1.50.... Correct Ted?? ps thanks for the advice

No heat shield, and it was becoming a pain in the butt. So I moved filter location

All you need is some sort of data logger, not tons of money. You guys have never heard of a Dashhawk? I thought some of those diablo things logged too. If you can inquire your fuel trims, you should also be able to show MAF, TEMPS, and LTFT/STFT.

I wish someone would do this with all the intakes honestly. When I eventually get one I'll post a stock-aftermarket data log graph. It's seriously a 10 minute deal, just no one here is familiar with that sort of stuff I guess.

I realize that adjusting the injector slope is currently the only way that You have to adjust fuel trims but it is not the right way.

You moved the MAF location that caused the fuel trims to be off so you need to play with the MAF location and clocking to get it right or Tune with something that you can recalibrate the MAF for it's new location.

Here we go, a topic I've waited for someone to bring up. Is there a way to tune your MAF curve? That's the only way I know how to calibrate it. It's not that hard to do and I figured the "tuners" out there were doing this, but I guess not.

I don't want this to seem like a thread jack, but this intake could work perfectly ( as could ANY intake for everyone else) if you tuned your MAF curve and showed how much more air is going into your car after that.

Not everyone has the equipment, ability, or knowledge to properly tune a MAF curve, Trust me I see lots of tunes from other shops let alone the hobbyist.

So with that, a Properly designed CAI is worth 2 times its cost to a consumer when they can bolt it on a go with no tuning and reap the additional HP benefit.

Well obviously, I was assuming some of these supercharger guys might go with a bigger intake which would need a good MAF curve tuning. I think it's easy, if I could find the article on how to do it I'll post it up. I just dont know if these at home flash tuners even exist.
