I just thought of something, you must remember to add in the almost expected "corvette Tax" that every body shop, tuner, mechanics shop, and any other shop you can think of is going to add onto the price of working on your car. The way they look at it is this, if you can afford a vette, then you can afford to pay a little more for that oil change... Trust me it happens all the time, and it sucks! It's a harsh reality out there, and vette guys usually take it up the a$$, or work on their own.

I would like to add that, everybody is looking at you. Including Mr. Tag and his co-workers. The idea is, if you drive a Vette, you are pre-disposed to speed. Not a sleeper car. Neither is the Camaro, though. Don't get Arrest Me, I mean Victory Red.

True sleeper: G8 GT in Metallic Gray. Silly invisible sedan...Vroommm!

Normally i'd say vette however in this case you never know what little surprises you could have in the future and you may need those backseats (small as they are) Also, wouldnt you rather a brand new car with nice power and more safety features? (and its all yours no other owner)

Yeah, Ive never owned a brand new car. They drop alot in value, whereas if you buy a used vette, the value has already drop so its to your advantage. Ive just been wanting this Camaro for too long to jump ship when we get close to the end, plus I cant let all you guys on here get one and me not have one.

i have owned 2 cars one 67 nova that has no interior and i have never driven and a 2005 colorado i bought brand new 2 weeks out of high school. and i have helped my friends with thier used cars. i can tell you with out a doubt the peace of mind of knowing your the only one to have used the car and to know its always been treated right is so worth it. unlike finding wads of chewing tabacco under the driver's seat or duct taped engine mounts in a used car.

I am not sure what I am going to do. I have driven a new Z06 and I have to say it is very very nice. If you are after power go Z06. if you are after good power and a great car go new Camaro. Go with the Camaro - the newer the GM car, the better they are. My 2007 Tahoe is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the 2005 it replaced. Our Enclave is stunning inside and out. My 2004 Corvette is a smooth car, and I love it dearly, but I actually find myself driving my tahoe over the vette just for the features and quality jump. After hearing all that I have heard (from Fbodfather and others at GM) about the quality of the new Camaro, it will be IMPOSSIBLE to compare the new Camaro to a 2005/6 C6. Sorry, the Camaro versus used 'Vette will be like comparing a BMW to a Mazda. PLUS: If you and wifey decide to get busy with the family, the vette will be sold instantly, whereas the Camaro can probably be justified due to the back seats!!! Who wants to sell the baby just because of a...baby?

If the SS2/RS is over 35k fully loaded I might be looking at Jetstream 2008 Corvette.

Have you seen some of the preliminary numbers, yet? The SS won't be killed by a Shelby. Although, if it does start to pull ahead, you can always loose it on the next turn.

Camaro is more practical. Parts would be cheaper for repair. It would also lose more value than a used corvette. My wife will let me get whatever I want. We could afford a brand new Z06 but I would feel guilty getting that, so thats out of the question. Either $30K-$35K '05 or '06 vette, or a $30K-$35K '10 Camaro.
Okay, so your saying that you could afford and have the wife on your side for a new z06 and your worried about feeling guilty

My wife and I had the same discussion. We test drove 'vettes and my wife just was not comfortable with the low ride. Don't get me wrong...my goal was to own a vette before I died (like so many red blooded American guys). Our 2010 Camaro will be a shared weekend "toy". We both have daily drivers that get us back a forth to work.

We're use to Chevelles so the new Camaro fits us better. Can't wait for our 2010 SS to arrive.

Former Rides:

1966 Chevelle (1971 to 2007)
1970 Chevelle (1974 to 1991)

Prices are the important factor, nothing regardless about it.The ONLY difference is the vette may have to stay stock for a while, but the Camaro could get the magnacharger instantly.

The Vette has been around for a while in its current model. The Camaro is brand new, so if you are looking to turn heads, that's another reason to get the Camaro.
