The picture of the vette from that angle DOES make it look cheap imo. The veyron is just ugly.

It's the shifter boot and the E-brake cover. I'm not a big fan of that two tone, but meh...The veyron is 5x uglier.

How's this...the Veyron's picture was taken in a studio - with the lighting, and the angles...
That Photo of the Vette was taken while the car was on the Grass for God's sake...

Here's an equal quality Vette pic, and the Veyron again since we're on a new thread page.:tweetz:

now that I have a good look at the two, I'd rather be in the vettes cockpit for sure! Hmm, this thread seems to have got a bit sidetracked . . .

Okay, good point. Will the Camaro have the horses GM claims...

How's this? GM never claimed it'd have ANY horses. Will it live up to our expections? YES! Plus a few "unexpected Surprises"...hmm. We can expect a lot, Mr. Peper...

What is with everyone wanting a horrible shade of orange in their car?

The Corvette looks much nicer, but that orange has to go. Black, Dark Gray, Light Gray, White and possibly Tan are the ONLY colors I want inside my vehicle.

There are a few reds that look gorgeous on an interior. Very few though.

Orange is making a statement, lately, isn't it?

Orange Camaro Vert, Orange Vette (when the C6 first came out), Orange Veyron, orange interior on the Camaro Coupe interior, and now orange interior on the new Vette...

Orange can be a sporty/aggressive color...But what gives?

Actually, 26mpg highway is for the base Corvette The Z06 is more around 14-16mpg according to my Motor Trend magazine. (Sep 07, Vol.59, No.9) But, I mean if you have the money to buy a Z06, you have the money to buy the gas lol.

Everything I have gathered from those that seem to be reliable sources of information from the Ford camp seem to indicate that the ls3 will be the engine that goes in the camaro. Take that with a grain of salt but some of these guys have a great track record.

I think that is the perfect engine for the camaro. It may be slightly detuned from the vette but still it will be a great place to start.

That was what we were thinking for a while (either LS3 or L76) but then Scott told us to forget everything we thought about engine possibilities. So we're back at square one or two now.

Wow, I didnt know that. Thanks for passing that on. It sure seems like the ls3 would be the logical choice. Am I correct in assuming that the ls2 is out?

Has anybody given any thought to the 5.3 in say a rally sport? Then maybe a 6.xx in the z28? As you can see Im grasping at straws here wanting to know more.

I think we confirmed the 5.3 isn't happening. Also, the RS could be an appearance package and not a trim line. Historically, it has been either one at different times.

The LS2 is good and dead. I suppose an LS3 could happen. We really don't know what to make of Scott's remark. Many of us are hoping that indicates the rumored Gen Vs, but we don't know many details about those. Both the LS3 and L76 were logical choices for various reasons, so we'll see what happens.

Since we're so undecided on the V8, can we come to a conclusion on the performance (RS?) V6? From what I understood, it would be a direct-injected version of the CTS motor, but that was just a rumor.

Again, that's as good a guess as any, but we won't really know until Chevy officialy releases specs/details. Until then, all we can do is speculate and make educated guesses based on what we see in other GM vehicles that might be appropriate for the new Camaro.

I just read this on HOTROD.com

Both Camaro prototypes in public circulation-the silver coupe that did the HOT ROD Power Tour(r) last year and the convertible as well-are powered by LS2 V-8s rated at 400 hp. However, GM insiders have blabbed to HOT ROD the range of potential powertrain options for the new Chevy ponycar. There will be two V-6 choices and at least three V-8s, including a 550hp version of the supercharged 6.2L V-8 for a high-content Z28 model. Sources indicate there will be two base V-8s, one stick and one automatic, both of them over 400 hp.

If this is true all of us will be very happy when we get out Camaros.
