Power lost after the flywheel

i am curious what the average % of power is lost from the flywheel to the Rear wheel? Does anyone know?

I have the LS3

It's around 15-16%. That's what mine was when I got a baseline dyno.

ok so i got 480 rwhp x that by .15 gives me 72 hp lost. that would put me at 552 at the crank. not bad

15% loss is off the FWHP number not the RWHP.

It depends on the dyno of course. A lot of people throw around the 15% number for DynoJet, but if that were true the stock LS3 which averages 370-375 RWHP on 93 octane on DJ would be 435-441 BHP and nobody has verified that. The real number is closer to 13-13.5%. Several high-end tuners have verified that and will tell you 15% is too high.

If you measured 480 RWHP, I'd lay money your BHP is 552-555.

id rather underrate it at 550 anyhows. it sounds better and the stickers look better.

I agree with you and think you're pretty much spot-on with where your car really is. I have 576 RWHP. I'd like to call that 680 BHP but in reality I know it is more like 660-665 BHP. And that's OK with me, I just want to know the truth. I had this conversation with Lingenfelter and they too agreed it is 13-13.5% on their DJ and most DJ will be same. 15% is way too optimistic for the LS3/M6 combo.
