Convertible has been scheduled for production beginning in early 2011 and the Z28 is expected in late 2011.

I went ahead and ordered a set of these that I asked the guy that made my 304HP decals to make. It is on e-bay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2010-...item3cabfa917a

okay, its taken me two days to read all 29 pages of this thread but I'm finally done and would like to share my comments!

I am so not impressed by HUD so I'm glad I'm planning on buying a 1SS. I am impressed that GM did listen to their many customers who requested this, even if it was not my first pick!

fbodfather - thank you so much for sharing your pearls of wisdom with our very opinionated bunch! It put my mind at ease over many of the debated topics on this thread and I appreciate it!
The ABM debacle is close to my heart as it was my 1st pick for the car. I owned a beautiful 88 camaro that was light blue and have very fond memories of that car. Unfortunately I wasn't able to purchase my car before it was discontinued and I'm truly kicking myself for that. My biggest concern is that near the end of 2011 (when I'm able to purchase my car) they'll come out with some fabulous replacement blue color and I'll be stuck with the IBM I plan on buying. I'd hate to regret my choice so I'll just have to cross my fingers! I understand this is a business and that it was a low selling color so no hard feelings....just strong feelings of wanting some medium blue to come out, preferably before I buy my car!

Lastly, Synergy Green.....I've seen it in person and my opinion didn't change.....its a Ricer color and it looks like Kermit the Frog to me. But to each their own.

I look forward to seeing what 2011 has to offer!

I know how if a color is below a certain sales percentage they discontinue it, but i wonder how long they give it. ABM seemed very popular with members on the board, but it's the only color i have not seen in person.
I can remember that light blue they had back in 1999. I only saw it twice on the street, and never saw one on a dealer's lot. Most people don't order their cars, so if a dealer doesn't order any in that color some people may not know it's available.

Many of you have heard me say "when you change anything on a Camaro or Corvette -- 50% love it and 50% hate it -- and eventually most of those who hate it will change their minds.

HUD -- Our disciples were very specific that we needed this in the new Camaro. Moreover, reviewing the posts on this site will show that many of the very people on this site feel it's important......and so we listened.
No - it's not a 'free-flow' option - and there's a reason - build complexity. And yes, I can see some of you with smoke coming out your ears -- but the fact is that we have to sometimes make hard decisions - and this was one of them. From a personal perspective? I remember driving to the NCM in a caravan with one of the very first 1998 C5s with HUD.....when we got near Louisville, we ran into a cloud burst that seemed to go on forever -- and the HUD allowed me to keep my eyes on the road while also monitoring systems in the car.........I love HUD - -not everyone will - but I think most will.

Synergy Green -- do a search for the subject and you'll see that most were begging us to offer it. It's a VERY polarizing color......and frankly, we weren't sure what the reaction would be once people actually saw it in person -- not just from pictures The reality is that people are lovin' it. It's not everyone's cup of tea - but from my experience standing near a Synergy Green Camaro in many different autoshows -- the reaction is extremely positive. Now - that said -in my opinion, it won't be a 15% runner......but for those who love the color - you can now get one in an LS - an LT or an SS - AND you can get the LT or the SS with RS. You asked: we delivered.

Engines --

Let's not forget-- as many people have mentioned before this post - that the car is still in its first year. Yes - the competition isn't sitting still.......

BUT..........................

............don't lose sight of the fact that the Mustang is not only Ford's "Camaro" - it's also their "Corvette" --

Put another way - we COULD drop the Corvette and concentrate on Camaro only -- and if we did, America (and Canada) should take the entire team out behind the woodshed and shoot us!

Arguably, we're coming out of the worst two years that GM has ever had...not everything we wanted to offer the first or second year of Camaro happened simplby because of Chapter 11...

.....but to assume we're 'done' with Camaro - well -- trust me - we aren't! There are many things being worked on for the future.......(we ARE listening.....)

--But some things don't happen overnight -especially when you are working on a new Corvette..... (and I can't talk about it -- so don't ask....)

So -- if you're a "Camaro-only" enthusiast - you might be disappointed. If, however, you are a "Chevy" enthusiast - you know that our performance cars now start out at 312hp -- and go up way past 600hp in the mighty ZR1 - and there are lots of choices from the bottom to the top........

LS - LT -- RS -- SS -- Corvette -- GrandSport -- Carbon - Z06 -- ZR1 --

......not a bad lineup, my friends........and yet we have many more 'tricks up our sleeves' --

Thanks for listening.......

........thanks for your passion.........

...............thanks for your enthusiasm --

.............and once again: thank you for 'keepin' the faith'

I hope to see a lot of you at Camaro5Fest................

Drive safe -- and put those safety belts on!

Exactly! Geesh, for a site dedicated to Camaro enthusiasts I can't believe all the whining. These are some good additions, there will be more to come, enjoy the car and the passion. Two years ago we had nothing but hopes, now we're complaining about the right color and whether or not HUD is a good idea. I am so thankful that we have this car and a great team like Cheryl, John and Scott behind it and behind us!

I think whats happening is Camaro owners were expecting there to be more changes because of the amount of fanfare that the 2011 Mustang has received. This is just my personal opinion, but I wouldnt be surprised if they were expecting to see GM come out with something even better for 2011 to trump the Mustang.

Alot of people were saying to not expect anything big for 2011, because it would only be the second year of the car's cycle, but they apparently were not heard.

If you have a 2010, love it and enjoy it, you've got a bad ass car. Look forward to what GM is going to produce next year, and just learn to relax.

Only 312 What about the SS aespecially with auto

That is not much of an improvement when if I am not mistaken the 3.6DI engine that is said to be in the new Malibu SS is 325hp why not the same in the camaro. Also why does the V8 auto in the camaro has to be less horsepower than manual it should be the same. I am ready for a DI V8 can't be that hard and cut down the freakin weight of the car. I would like to see horsepower upon the SS to like 450 at least. Also I would love to see either a supercharged or turbo V6 option or an upgrade engine with aqround 375-400 that would fall between the base and SS

A lot of the people complaining aren't owners, i don't think.
Here's the way i look at it. Some people want a stiffer suspension for the SS. Well if they do that they're half way to what the Z28 will be. It's great ford offers a track pack, but to me the way they've improved the gt i don't know why anyone would spend thousands more for the 500 or 350. I think Chevrolet has got the models just right. The Camaro doesn't need big changes.
The only thing i was expecting for 2011 was possibly ambient lighting for the dash.

GM would have to find other cars to put a Supercharged/turbocharged V6 into. It's very expensive to produce an engine for just one trim of one car.

Dont be surprised if a smaller block, DI V8 makes an appearance in the last two model years for this Camaro.

In the case of the GT350 it's about prestige. It'll be a limited edition car, signed by Shelby himself, and sporting a more advanced motor than the GT500.

I wonder if the said 312hp is actually just the same as last year engine or if their will be actual improvement in 0-60 and 1/4mile as I said why be nominal when I read they could have put in the 325hp 3.6DI engine that the 2011 Malibu SS will have give me that version of the 3.6DI. If the 1/4 mile is the same as last year is then all they have done is actually nothing at all. Also put out a madel with about 375-400hp priced in between the base and SS and call that the RS where it will mean something.

Performance is not changed from last year unless they made more changes then they announced.

And the 3.6 in the Malibu SS is the same as in the Camaro. I am not sure what is different to rate it at 325hp though.

The RS=APPEARANCE ITEMS ONLY. always has been this way. The trim levels are fine-- SS L99/A6 is at the upper end of the range you suggest anyway.
