However, the poll is unscientific -- and the sad fact is that ABM did not sell in big numbers....regardless of how much you and I love it. (.....and I mean that -- I think ABM with Silver stripes is a stunning combination......)

In fact, I loved 20U "Bright Blue Metallic" in the 2000 model year -- I had a Z28 convert in that color and I thought it really stood out -- but the color wasn't well accepted and sold just over 1,100 units.

In 1991 -- 23U -- Light Blue metallic -- loved it -- had one --I have great memories of it at the Jersey Shore -- top down -- stereo blasting -- 3,900 of 'em sold..........

Going back to the late 60s-- Lemans Blue -- Marina Blue -- Mulsanne Blue - I loved 'em all -- Lemans blue did the best job in terms of 'blue' volume, but it wasn't in the top 5 colors that year (1969)-- Marina and Mulsanne? Not so much. In fact, I'd wager that most Lemans blue 1969 Camaros (or Marina Blue 1967 Camaros) you see on the road were not originally painted that color -but rather repainted when the car was restored...

I don't make those rules......nor does anyone on the Performance Car team.......

The public speaks by purchasing (or not purchasing) colors and options.......and sometimes it's hard to drop something you feel strongly about. It happens a lot in this business.

I remember Cheryl felt very strongly about Bright Purple Metallic in the 1998 model year...(I still refer to it as "Pilcher Purple") -- and just as she felt strongly about purple, I loved Sport Gold........

.........both paint colors did a very dismal volume..............

How well will Synergy Green do? No one really knows just yet -- as I said - I suspect it won't hit 10%-- in fact, I'd guess 5% is more like it -- and it will go away.

The REAL question is: What color is the next "hot" color? And by that -- I mean - wide appeal and high volume on the Camaro.........

I am sure they could have also but honestly why? Especially at the time.

From what I have read they used the certification for the Caddy for rating the hp on the 2010 V6.

And now they went for a marketing move, a smart one in my eyes, to certify the Camaro so they could have 312hp rating instead of 304.

Sorry, forgot to add that its accurate +/- 3%.....Now its officially scientific ...

I just hope GM comes up with a good medium blue in 11'. We need variety. SG is just too "out there" for many of us who want something other then the other current offerings. Thanks for listening Scott!

PS-I was in a parking lot today, and saw a boring sea of silver/red/black cars....and among them an ABM Silverado, that just looked AWESOME...No doubt in my mind that ABM sales would've increased markedly given more time in the marketplace.

Many of you have heard me say "when you change anything on a Camaro or Corvette -- 50% love it and 50% hate it -- and eventually most of those who hate it will change their minds.

HUD -- Our disciples were very specific that we needed this in the new Camaro. Moreover, reviewing the posts on this site will show that many of the very people on this site feel it's important......and so we listened.
No - it's not a 'free-flow' option - and there's a reason - build complexity. And yes, I can see some of you with smoke coming out your ears -- but the fact is that we have to sometimes make hard decisions - and this was one of them. From a personal perspective? I remember driving to the NCM in a caravan with one of the very first 1998 C5s with HUD.....when we got near Louisville, we ran into a cloud burst that seemed to go on forever -- and the HUD allowed me to keep my eyes on the road while also monitoring systems in the car.........I love HUD - -not everyone will - but I think most will.

Synergy Green -- do a search for the subject and you'll see that most were begging us to offer it. It's a VERY polarizing color......and frankly, we weren't sure what the reaction would be once people actually saw it in person -- not just from pictures The reality is that people are lovin' it. It's not everyone's cup of tea - but from my experience standing near a Synergy Green Camaro in many different autoshows -- the reaction is extremely positive. Now - that said -in my opinion, it won't be a 15% runner......but for those who love the color - you can now get one in an LS - an LT or an SS - AND you can get the LT or the SS with RS. You asked: we delivered.

Engines --

Let's not forget-- as many people have mentioned before this post - that the car is still in its first year. Yes - the competition isn't sitting still.......

BUT..........................

............don't lose sight of the fact that the Mustang is not only Ford's "Camaro" - it's also their "Corvette" --

Put another way - we COULD drop the Corvette and concentrate on Camaro only -- and if we did, America (and Canada) should take the entire team out behind the woodshed and shoot us!

Arguably, we're coming out of the worst two years that GM has ever had...not everything we wanted to offer the first or second year of Camaro happened simplby because of Chapter 11...

.....but to assume we're 'done' with Camaro - well -- trust me - we aren't! There are many things being worked on for the future.......(we ARE listening.....)

--But some things don't happen overnight -especially when you are working on a new Corvette..... (and I can't talk about it -- so don't ask....)

So -- if you're a "Camaro-only" enthusiast - you might be disappointed. If, however, you are a "Chevy" enthusiast - you know that our performance cars now start out at 312hp -- and go up way past 600hp in the mighty ZR1 - and there are lots of choices from the bottom to the top........

LS - LT -- RS -- SS -- Corvette -- GrandSport -- Carbon - Z06 -- ZR1 --

......not a bad lineup, my friends........and yet we have many more 'tricks up our sleeves' --

Thanks for listening.......

........thanks for your passion.........

...............thanks for your enthusiasm --

.............and once again: thank you for 'keepin' the faith'

I hope to see a lot of you at Camaro5Fest................

Drive safe -- and put those safety belts on!

ummmmm.......
so how about that new Corvette...........

Oh and I think you missed a trim between SS and Corvette

Is there room for improvement? Sure there is. Does the average driver need the improvements? I highly doubt it.

GM did their best to make these cars very affordable for Joe Public. And I think they did a great job of it.

Worried about suspension and handling? There are aftermarkets out there a person can deal with to obtain the results they feel they desire or need.

This car is by no means a tank. I mean, it is what...300lbs heavier than the Mustang? That is not a lot. And remember, it is lighter than the Challenger.

But for GM to start making changes to suspension and such would be crazy. The price would go up. There would be warranties to worry about. And really...does Joe Public need tighter suspension to enjoy this car on the public roadways?

This car handles way better than my "Road Hugger" ('74)

I agree. I happen to like the color too. But if doesn't sell, get rid of it.

I'm just glad I got my IBM before it gets cut off (according to the numbers it is the least selling now. I'm assuming it would be the next to be cut off.)

Thanks for the feedback Scott. It is weird how blue was a big color back in the 60's/70's, and now very few new cars are blue. Seems like so many people now settle for silver or black, or RJT-type colors.

So the 2011 V6 is the same as the 2010 V6, but with a higher rating?

I read through several pages of this thread but not all 25....just to much.

I never saw any mention about the adjustable passenger seat (power or not) or maybe memory seats. Anyone hear anything about those? If they come out I hope they are retro fit.

Yup. Apparently, the 2010 V6 also made 312 hp, but nobody really knew that until now.

Nothing has been said about them, besides people saying they want them (and subsequent arguments)

I always wanted a HUD, cal was being an elitist back on page whatever it was. Saying that you have to be able to afford a high end model in order to be a good driver or in order to be able to 'handle' a car properly. that was the stupidest bullshit i've heard all year (granted it's only 1/3 of the year in).

We'll see, i'm no way trading in my ride now, i'm just going to keep upgrading and upgrading and eventually throw on the turbo. But this is good news for the community, regardless.

New Seats

A lot of people wanted power pass seat, but that adds weight...and she's already 300# heavier than Mustang. And how many diff people sit over there besides the wife?
As for memory, again, how many diff people are driving your Car?

So far has anyone heard about the colors for the 2011? I read somewhere (probably in one of the forums) that the IBM was a first year color!! Also any word on any possible changes on the appearance of the SS/RS???

No colour changes, aside from the temporary addition of synergy green to the entire lineup. No exterior changes are planned for any of the models. That is extremely rare for a 2nd year of a body style.
