I hope it comes in on the lower end of the scale, but a little more might be fine. However, if a fully-loaded 2SS/RS comes in at more than 35-36K, I'm going to have to consider jumping into a more expensive BMW, even if it costs much more. I just can't justify paying more than that for a Camaro without a supercharged V-8.

The 370z is supposed to weigh less than the current 350z. Along with weighing less its going to make more hp (30+ hp if the rumors are correct). The Nissan boys, from what I've been hearing on the Nissan sites, are confindent it will be just as fast as the Camaro SS.

It will be fun proving them wrong. But the new 370z will definately be pretty quick. (most likely low 13s in the 1/4 mile).

But as you mentioned, the 370z is supposed to jump up a little in price compared to the previous model.

Someone said an optioned out Mustang GT Premium was ~33K? Okay. If that's the case, then if a fully-optioned 2SS RS Camaro comes in over 35,000...I will be absolutely astounded.

I just did the same with the GT premium and the only thing I didnt include was navigation to try and make it fair, and it came out at just below 34k, sunroof would have added another thousand. The Challenger R/T optioned similar to the Camaro SS loaded is about 34.5k.

So based on that and Fbodfathers replies as well I can't imagine an SS2/RS with everything possible being over 36k.

A fully loaded Mustang is more than $32,000. So why would a fully loaded Camaro being more than $32,000 be so bad?

I priced the Mustang GT Premium to my liking (as close as I can come to an equivalent to what I want on the Camaro) and it's consistently come in at $35,000 or more.

Are you adding the glass roof, etc?

I've been thinking the same thing. It's actually difficult to come up with ways to get it more expensive without Ford Racing parts.

I want to know why people want all the options. Is it really that desirable to have everything? How practical is it to worry about a fully loaded car? The vast majority of us will get about half of the options. Everyone should expect to pay a couple thousand more than base MSRP for their options. Base MSRP will be competitive with a Mustang GT. Add $1,500 at the most to Mustang pricing.

Exactly, 33k for "well equipped" SS2/RS = REALITY!

I just customized a Premium Mustang GT to match the standard specs for the SS/RS Camaro as close as possible and it came out at $32,360. I would expect to see the 2SS/RS within $1-2k of this point if GM wants to stay competitive. We may see that it could be worth quite a bit more than this and a bigger surplus over Mustang is fair, but GM won't have any chance at competing if it is more than $2k over the comparable Mustang.

To add onto my post above, I added in all of the extras, many of which don't appear to even be available for the Camaro that we know of at this time and it still only came out to $35,550. So again, this emphasizes that if the Camaro gets a premium over the Mustang of more than $1-2k, the average consumer will go to the Mustang and be able to get many more options and accessories.

complain all you want.

OK guys you can fuss about a couple thousand here and there. some say thay will opped for the mustang. We all know what the Camaro coupe and vert look like so for a couple thousand less you get these.

The first two are the mustang GT and the last three are the Shelby GT500 for the 2010 modle year. I do half to admit the 2007-2009 desighns looks better than the 2010.

^^^^^ I think Ford should make that a paint option! I honestly think people out there would buy it!!!

Why wouldn't they? It's a mustang! Everyone has one!!! hahaha

The SS pretty much needs to start at less than 30k. My guess is an MSRP of $28 500. Optioned out, probably mid to high 30's.

that should be adding 21inch wheels interior extras, cat back, cold air intake, stripe package, ground effects, and 2 of those wing spoilers bolted one on top of the other.
