Car blow driers ?

Has anyone tried any of these car blow driers?

http://www.autogeek.net/metro-blaster-sidekick.html (the smallest)

http://www.autogeek.net/metrochart.html (the list of regular ones)

http://www.autogeek.net/mema.html (the biggest)

Wich ones are overkill and too expensive? Which ones are good and will last? Wich one is worth the $$$$'s?? I don't want to spend more than I need.

This one looks nice.

http://www.autogeek.net/vacnbloporva.html (I think I might go with this)

I get access water off with a shammy and then use a microfiber towel to finish. I then take compressed air and blow out all the nooks and crannies of trapped water. Black is such a PITA.

I wouldn't mind using a drier, but its so dusty here in the desert it would be more harm than good.

I'm just concerned about aiming upwards from the bottom might be difficult with a leaf blower and aiming downwards might stirr up dust.
That's why I was looking for something more specific for cars. The leaf blower is a good cheap idea. Any other recommendations or favorites?

This is one that I've been looking at a lot. Is the blower powerful enought to do the job well? And does the hose reach the top of the car/all areas of the car easily if the vac/blower is on the ground ?

No not cumbersome at all, maybe 3-4 lbs and small I was amazed how small it is and how much air it blows out. It is about the size of a soccerball.

The thing looks like a skill saw ! How long does it take to dry the car. Does it have all the power you need? How long is the cord?

I bought a cheapo at Home Depot, it was a homelite for about 39 bucks. the label said it will blow 150 mph, I used it ONCE and returned it today. I got the Toro ultimate instead. It's 11.5 amp, the homelite was 7 amps. I hope the Toro works better!!

Although it will dry the entire car I would not use it for that reason. I use it strictly to get in seams and sections that a towel cannot reach, especially around the tail light bezels, side markers, hood, trunk etc.

It has way more power than I need.

The cord I believe is 12 feet, you will definatly need a extension cord.

A leaf blower works great as well, it is all a matter of preference I believe.

i use my gas powered leaf blower..figure i can get more use out of it since it wasnt to cheap and it works great. not only does it get all of the water out of tight spots, and dries the wheels, it dries the car pretty quick. i like that because i dont have to risk getting swirls from drying it to much. i just shammy off any water left from the blower, then i spray detail it. also prevents me from gettin to many waterspots
