GM killing 4 models
In a short while, the Trailblazer, Envoy, 9-7X, and Ascender will all meet their end. On 23 December 2008, long before the date of the plant's original closing, GM will end production at a plant in Ohio. Article is by Leftlane.

I'm not suprised, they are a little outdated.

At the very least, this will cut costs and liabilities for GM in a market that is not doing very well, especially in the area of SUVs.

Indeed, agreed. The Trailblazer SS was/is sweet, but they are all outdated now. And it appears the american economy isn't at its greatest, so nothing like precautionary measures? Too bad for the workers though.

Good riddance. My parents have a Trailblazer and i hate that vehicle. It's been reliable for the 140,000+ miles and the I6 is powerful enough, but the sluggish drunken handling, the awful baby-mouse fur cloth, the horrible dash material(what IS it made from?),the running boards that dirty your clothes, the back door opening right on the wheel well that dirtys your clothes, the back hatch that weighs about 600 pounds,i could go on and on. How the hell did these cars last this long and who the hell actually bought the fake Saab versions?

I for one will miss them my brother has a 04 LS 4WD that he took to L.A. from NY and he uses it all the time and he loves it the MPG is not bad for a 4000 pound plus body on frame SUV (which is rare unless its the full size GM and Ford and Chrysler). and that inline 6 is VERY powerfull but he put in a cold air intake and a Borla exaust on it and it sounds mean! I would love to get one of them or one that shares that platform. I almost bought the last of the Olds Bravadas in Dark Red Metalic and tan leather interior with only 24K miles on it and i passed . sure the new 'Lambda" crossovers like the Traverese are nicer and more efficent but I will truly miss the old rear drive 4Wd mini suvs like the TBs and the Blazers before them.
R.I.P GM GMT360 platform SUVS 2002-2009

I'm not sad to see the 9-7X go, but I am sad that it's so far the only Saab avaiable with a V8. I want a RWD V8 Saab damn it! :/

Trailblazer SS was cool just because it performed exactly like an SUV shouldn't, but other than that those vehicles are not that great. My dad has an Envoy, and despite its large size you really can't fit much in it even with the seats folded due to awful interior packaging. It is sad that those plants can't get a different model line to produce, but I won't be missing those products.
