Shifter

what do you think the chances are that the shifter housing, or base stays the same in the production model?
I mean, in almost every car you see with a manual, the shifter is covered in that nasty leather...this looks good with the metal covering, do you think it'll stay?

Here's what I see happening if the shifter stays the same for production. Dust and grime causing major blemishes on the aluminum/most likely plastic cover. Probably going to see that switched over to some kind of boot. You never know…

I would be surprised if it wasn't similar to what's in the 4th Gen., a boot.

I think it would be really cool if it was similar to the concept, but a boot is cheaper, and makes it easier for maintenance, for enthusiasts who want to change shifters, etc.

Have a feeling the shifter might change...but I betcha they keep it the same and use different, less costly materials to keep the look. It wouldn't be good for them to go back to the boot. They should be trying to get away from the old "styling" (or lack there of) of the 4th Gen and spice it up for this next Generation Camaro. I'd be very dissapointed if they went back to the old boot style. I want something NEW, for cryin' out loud.
