HSV Clubsport R8 317 LS3 twin turbo

looks like the holden crowd is having all the fun with the new LS3, I wont be surprised if they manage to get the new z28 goodies in their holden car before we get ours in the camaro. Oh shit they got the LS7 in the line up too. nonetheless since we share the similar platform I wanted see what kind of fun upgrades their doing and the twin turbo set up looks really good to me at this point.

I first saw a turbo system kinda like that in a setup for some GM trucks in a Performance Products catalog where the turbo replaced the muffler.

Still, if I find 422hp not enough, I'd consider this setup.

Have you seen the price of the LS7 Holden? I don't remember exactly what the number was, but it was HIGH. I do remember saying to myself that it wasn't worth the extra money even if I had it. I'd just build the LS3.

Nevermind. Found it at Edmunds.com

What may surprise you, however, is that the HSV W427 — of which HSV plans to build up to 427 examples — costs almost twice as much as a Corvette Z06 — US$142,550. Heck, it's almost US$20K more than the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, GM's most expensive model.

i dont think people realize how much of the G8 and Holden parts are going to be direct fit on the Camaro. i mean if you look at that cardomain page he has computer adjustable dampers on his suspension that he can tune inside of his car.... he also used the pedders kit which gives me much more respect for thier stuff. that car looks amazing. and we can use 99% of the parts he used.

I think the squires systems are safer though. Cooler under hood temps, cooler air charge, etc.

the turbos arent in the engine compartment and they are water cooled instead of oil with increases the life of the turbo, as well as having a nicer intercooler, dont get me wrong i like the STS systems but the g8 kit should be a really close to our cars and with only minor tubing length mods should go right in

It looks A LOT more complicated than what I mentioned, but essentially the same. What I was talking was what I remembered loong ago, maybe in 2004 at the earliest. There was a setup for the Avalanche, which was pretty cool. Of course, single-turbo setup, tho.

even so, the radials won't make that huge different maybe 0.3 sec or let's say 0.5 sec less.

Hey I found this about this on Top Gear Australia and I wasn't too excited about the ford they tested. It barely beat the LS3 HSV with a 4.0L Inline 6 Turbo in the drag race! If they had this engine in a Mustang here in the US, I would be worried.

Sorry if off topic

577 RWHP + 4123lbs + street tires = 12.7@119
The trap speed isnt far off from what it should be doing but the 60' times are probably awful.
