like i think imperial is good cause its on the blacker side of the blue spectrum. which is good for people who don't want black cause it disguises body lines. and this color is also good cause it would be good cause it's on the opposite end of the spectrum of jetstream.
and then i think that jetstream is good cause it's a little brighter, more of a silvery blue. which is good cause it appeals to people who want a car that's easier to keep clean, and it's a "neutral" color, as in girls and guys will like it. and they already have it for the corvette so they could probably get a little cheaper price to put it on this car since it would be on another model. even if it is an extra charge option i would buy it as im sure many would
please gm add these colors

This is the color i am considering on getting on my Camaro SS. It is called Interlagos Blue Metallic. It is a color offered thre BMW. I had this color om my M3 when I lived in Germany and I can tell you that is stunning to see in person. The paint code is " A30".

All you'll need with the Aqua is a pair of fuzzy dice and some neon ground effects lighting and you will be on your way.....do they make Ferraris in Aqua Blue? how about Masseratis, Lamborghinis, etc. How about we leave the Aqua blue for the Dodge Neons of the world.

See..why do some people have to drink Haterade all the time..I was stating MHO and ya gotta bash me for it?...I voted for aqua and I'm cast out by someone stereotyping a color?? wtf? Oh wait..Bangor...that explains it...nevermind..Party on Garth!

How did I bash you exactly? by stating my Opinion that Aqua blue is best left to econo-boxes and not on a high performance sports car like this. I just happen to think it looks tacky and cheap....there is a reason you can't get it on high end cars cause many people think the same way....it's reserved for lesser vehicles than this Beast.

The Teal Color on Gen 3 and Gen 4 Camaros was so common it was overdone, and did a lot for the stereotypical image of the Camaro Driver with his mullet and wife beater shirt in an ugly colored car.

Now your dig on Bangor could be considered bashing, but considering that Wayne's World was set more than 1000 miles away I'm having trouble understanding your inference.

Wow... I was really leaning towards Imperial Blue. What a Shame
Maybe I'll wait and see if it comes out later. At least that way I can get the heads up display too. I am really disappointed though. I've been waiting a long time for this car...

Re-posting for effect:

I understand the reasoning for reducing build combinations, and I'm sure we all appreciate the attempts to reduce cost however possible. But you can surely take the hit for ONE more color, right? Again, I'm getting a Cyber Gray car...but the purchases of the folks who've posted here that say they want to buy a Blue SS, alone, could probably make up for any $$ issues that arise with adding another color to the lineup. Not to mention, of course, other potential blue SS buyers who don't haunt an internet forum...they're out there -- and you're gonna loose them.:(

Please Offer a BLUE on the SS!!!

Thank you, Scott for being an enthusiast first and GM employee second. We are so lucky to have you on our side and looking out for what we really want.
It's a damn good thing that we already have 3 blue cars or I'd be super pissed about this whole thing. If there were no Cyber Gray, I don't know what I'd do since I really am trying not to add another black car to the fleet.
GM - I think this is a HUGE mistake to keep blue out of the SS lineup. Imperial Blue is going to be one of the most gorgeous colors on the 5th gen and should be in the hands of the folks that will take pride in their cars and will spread the word about the fine automobile they are drivng. I personally would never cross to the other side by looking to another brand, but there are many that will to get the look they want. As you should know by now since you work for GM, there is a good number of the general public who really think about the image that their "ride" portrays when they are in it. Some folks like certain colors and will only have cars of that color. (I am kind of the opposite of that where I have colors I WON'T buy.)

IMPERIAL BLUE SS's ARE A MUST!!!!

PLEASE OFFER Imperial Blue!!!!!

And thank you, FBF, for bringing our conerns to those that may consider them! As disappointed as I was when I heard the confirmation, I am now as much or more surprised, and pleased, that we may still get what we want.

Someone should start a poll here for SS buyers and potential SS buyers and have them go through each of the colors and rank them in order of preference. In the end take the top 8 colors from that list and omit the two least popular.

Whatever "Focus Group" decided blue was a bad color was definitely NOT made up of the actual people who are going to be buying the car.

I'd be cool with Imperial Blue being on the SS and Aqua Blue not being available... but some blue needs to be offered... the heritage goes back too far to just not offer one.

This is the same lame BS that Dodge pulled with their Challenger SRT8. There is a difference, however: the SS is not a limited production, niche market car. That would have been the Z-28, which GM also declined to build.

This is the exact opposite direction that GM should be going in. They should be offering more colors for the SS, not less. They are trying to build a new franchise here, correct? They want to sell 100,000+ cars the first year, right? They claim that both they and their car are better then the competition, don't they? Their goal is to take a huge bite out of those Mustang and Challenger sales and establish themselves within this market for years to come, yes?

Instead of offering zero blue's for their new signature car, they should offer three. The two they have now, which would look something like this:

And then another altogether that is exclusive to the SS (if necessary - I'm no fan of punishing those who buy the base model car). Perhaps like this:

Instead, those looking for a blue powerhouse car will have to ignore the Camaro completely and look at these instead:

I think it's also of note that Dodge is offering a second Blue color as a special edition later in the year. It'll look like this:

What do you have to say for yourselves GM?

This is a real disappointment. I heard this has been forwarded to people with some power, however truthfully I would get a V6 as opposed to a V8 if I can't get it in Aqua Blue Metallic with the blue interior ambient lighting.

I wonder if they only offer blue in the v6 camaro is to get people to buy the V6 instead of the v8 optioned camaro. I saw somewhere that first production camaro would be 80 percent v6 camaros and they might not be able to fill the ss orders so they are hoping people who want blue will switch to the v6 camaro. I am probably crazy, but it just popped in my head and thought I would put it out there.

Yeah, but by doing that they screw with their core enthusiasts, the ones who actually plunk down the change and buy a V8.

maybe so...but in their IDL broadcast, they identified the SS as the car that was more targeted to the "enthusiasts, or Class A buyers"... and with that in mind, that means that they are slapping the face of the core group of enthusiasts and saying, "NO, you are not as good as the V6 guys" when it was US, the loyal and faithful enthusiasts, that kept the Camaro name alive while it was on hiatus... and we, the enthusiasts, need to make ourselves heard... and give GM the choice of giving us what we want or having someone new to the Camaro name come on Camaro5 and others sites and seeing how they treat their faithful followers and customers.

Hey, now. I'm a V6 buyer, and I consider myself to be an enthusiast. I would never buy any other F body with a 6, simply and frnakly because all other sixes before now sucked. I agree that you should offer the same colors on all cars, it's got to cost MORE to not do it that way, (ie make special exceptions in the line to NOT paint any SS bumpers blue) . I don't get it either. I'm buying a 6 no matter what, and it's nice that I get my choice of colors, but it's dumb that the V8 guys don't get theirs.

wow i cant belive i pushed my dad to get this car soo badly. all he asked for was that it came in aqau blue or le mans blue, and that was over a month ago. now ur callen the blue off. i could care less but im not the one buying it, its my dad. no blue = no 09 camaro for my dad. good job on taken away the colour.

take a look at one of the sexciest colors gm has ever produced. le mans blue. the same color that the 1st production zr1 came with and sold for 1,000,000 on barrett jackson
my dads car btw.

hope u change ur mind gm.

I had narrowed my choices down to Aqua Blue and Cyber Gray for my SS/RS. I guess GM made my choice for me. It shouldn't be that way.

My vote is that both colors are offered on the SS.
