2009 Roush Stage 3 vs 2010 SS

1/4 ?

I've seen times ranging from 12.4 - 13.5.

How fast are they? Some kid in a roush kept trying to edge me on today.

I'd say mid to high 12s if the driver is pretty good. low to mid 13s if the driver is competent. Who knows if the driver is horrible.

Now the 2010 Stage 3 is a different animal.

It'd be relatively close. He might have a car length or two on you, unless you're a good driver and he's bad then you'd beat him obviously lol.

a stock 427R will weigh a LITTLE less than you and has 385rwhp. you should be able to kill him with tires and a few bolt-ons. they are not very fast. only an m-90 supercharger.

If you're gonna race, be prepared to loose. Then be prepared to mod your car so it doesn't happen again. Bottom line - There is always somebody with a faster car, that is the racing game. I'm seeing a lot of Challenger owners "stroking" their engines (392 or 426) and then putting a supercharger and other tidbits on top of that - most seem to be going for 700 rwhp or more. I know a lot of folks are stuck on the "if it's not stock it doesn't count" thing but if you're gonna race...

So its the Mustang is lighter and has more rwhp and you think he will still kill it, hmmm.

a few bolt ons and teh SS is faster. the roush is slow for its hp level. heat builds up quick with the tiny charger and intercooler. its a piss poor induction system. better suited to a V6.

Ran a Roush Stage 1 this weekend.

Don't know if he couldn't shift or if they are just slow... But he couldn't break into the 13s. I think when I ran him he ran like 15.3 or something incredibly slow....

He was the one that found me in a line of like 30 cars and asked me to race and seemed all cocky about it too lol....

Is a stage 1 just the body kit???

the timeslip of your race against him should show what he ran....how about posting the slip?

Depending on the CAI you have if any, you can pull em through the quarter. We race about every weekend and there have been several Roush cars there that won't even run with our cars which are mostly stock except for cold air and maybe headers. The GT500 struggles with outrunning the camaro, which is a grip problem, but still. Don't back down from em, run em... But you will need to get off the line and hit your shifts.

There are a lot of Roush Mustangs and Saleen Mustangs up in Gatlenburg Tn, my friend used to take his 03 Cobra up there and raise hell with some of them. One guy had a Saleen Extream with like 550hp stock he said, I've never seen them run but it was mean sounding. When I cruise up there with my buddy Neal in my Camaro it's a blast but sometimes I wish I'd went with the SS Camaro instead of the V6. Everyone told me I'd feel that way but I decided to go with the V6 anyway but I'm still happy. I'm actually debating on rather to sell my 4 Runner which is paid off and getting a 2000-2002 Trans-Am WS6 or SS Camaro. Those Trans-Ams are just freaking mean as hell.

Already beat one at the track.
I wasn't impressed. Either the car wasn't running right, or the guy couldn't drive.
I never saw him run faster than 12.7s - 12.8s.

And yes, it was a Roush Stage 3.

Did you see the 2010 Roush Stage 3 vs Lingenfilter in last months C&D. Good compro with the exception that their drivers cant launch. C&D clocked a 12.4 in the stage 3 and MMFF magazine clocked a 11.4 w/ MT's. The 2010 Roush stage 3 is a fully forged beast with a 2.3L TVS sitting on top making 15psi.
