time for a custom turbo kit!

ok so since it seems like everyone is going to have a turbo kit soon(i guess that means in a year or so lol) i figured im gonna do a custom kit, i talked to vince at trifecta and its 400 for the tune so the main problem is squared away, i think im still gonna do a rear mount turbo like the sts kit to save on fab work, i talked to a friend who ownes rmstexas.com and he is saying we can get a turbo togeather for WAY under the 6k asking price for the sts kit, so not its just trying to figure out how much boost? any one have any idea how much boost the motor can hold before needing new pistons and all theat good stuf. i want to try to find a thicker head gasket to drop compression some but other than that i dont want to crack open the motor for anything, i would think with a thicker head gasket and upgraded fuel i could push 10 psi, with the sts kit making 400 rwhp at 5 psi. i can only wonder how much hp i could make. anyone have any input?

I'm pretty sure that sts made 400 at the wheels with 5psi, which is pretty stout. I'm not sure how much of a...boost (couldnt help it) the extra gasket would be...5 maybe 10 ponies?

STS made the hp/tq at 6psi actually. Vince, also did the tuning for STS, I'm sure he told you that. When they did push the car to 8psi it started to pull timing badly and couldn't hold on the hp/tq. I would def push after a turbo to start upgrading the headers, exhaust and such to make some more hp and pull quite a bit more tq.

the headers and exhaust is all going on when the turbo does, vince told me that the reason why the motor was pulling timming so bad was because of the torque managment in the trans, mine is a 6spd so im not going to have that problem.

anyone know anyhting about the aloytec motors? how close are they to ours, i dont know anything about them but i seem to remember someone talking about a turboed one......would that be a good way to get an idea of what our motors will do with boost?

The AY-6 is a 6-speed manual transmission manufactured by Aisin. It is designed for longitudinal engine applications and can handle up to 345 ftlbf (468 Nm) of torque.

ya i just put my bike up on craigslist so once it sells in the shop it goes, we are doing a sts style set-up with a t3/t4 p trim turbo (same as the sts kit) a little birdy told me there is about to be another company doing a tune for FI once the car goes in the shop it should be about a week im building the kit to handle 600rwhp but its gonna have to stay on low boost till i can get a tranny build along with a long list of other parts.....anyone see this yet?

he says its 650 rwhp and he build the manifold but has only done shows with it so he has not idea what it will run or even hold up lol but ya thats the update so if anyone wants to buy a harley let me know

The only Turbo(s) I'll see is my Cat C15 twin turbo in my Freightliner and gows like stink weighing 80,000 unloaded it lights the tires! Nobody has correctly buily one for our V6. You see one when Chevy puts a twin turbo on a V6, Super charging might be the way to go.....less problems all around.
