It lowers the car to 30 1/8" all around and makes it more firm of course.

If anyone else wants a set of OEM sways, end links and springs off of an SS, let me know. I'll sell mine at a reasonable price. I'll never put them back on my car.

Yeah, here are are the specs:

V6:
Front Bar - 22.2 x 4 mm
Rear Bar - 21.7 x 3 mm
Front Springs - 25 Nm spring rate
Rear Springs - 53 Nm spring rate

V8:
Front Bar - 23 x 4.2 mm
Rear Bar - 23 x 3 mm
Front Springs - 27 Nm spring rate
Rear Springs - 66 Nm spring rate

Also, the A6 V8 and M6 V6 use the same 3.27 limited slip rear end.
Both V8 and M6 V6 use the same 30 mm left and 40 mm right axles.

Stuff like this should be in the wiki.

You can put it in the Wiki. That's why it's there.

How are you guys at installing car audio? I am thinking about getting a subthump box and putting a couple of 10" subs and an amp in the trunk. I will probably just have a shop do the installation. I might drive to subthump in Indiana to have them do it unless I can find a good car audio shop in or near Columbus.

car audio is not my thing. I'd farm that out! Too much can go wrong and the car burn or sound like crap.

As I am reading it, the SS has a stiffer spring rate... which makes sense but, what it the unsprung height like? All a stiffer spring will do is make it ride stiffer, it needs to be shorter to lower the car. Plus all the aftermarket kits are a dual rate rear spring. Not trying to deter, just trying to get all the facts... Lets do it and see what happens... worse case senerio, it sucks and we have to un-do it.

Cool, shorter and stiffer... sounds like a good idea. If you didnt get them yet, I am sure there are plenty sets of OEM stuff to go around...

I have springs and a rear sway. My front has not shown up yet. I hope to have it by Friday so I can put it on prior to mod day.

J,

My order from BMR has a estimated delivery date of Wednesday (19th) for my springs and Front/Rear Sway bar Kit. You should call to see if they mailed your front yet.

Doug-

RS_Man will most likely be coming along with me so add him to the food headcount. I'll cover his expenses as he'll be helping me like a good son should :-)

The wife and I will be there for lunch and dinner. She is a great cook, so I am sure she will throw something together for us to munch on between the subs and pizza.

I will be there early too. Slight chance I may have to work, but if not, I am there as early as the garage opens. Should I bring a tub of coffee? (Starbucks)

Heinzd01-
I have a set of "stealth bulbs" to install. I'm not sure if those will require Randy's hammer or not.

This might sound like a dorky idea, but what would you guys think about having name tags on Sunday? I had a little trouble putting Camaro5 names together with real names. It would save some awkward "wtf are you?" moments.

Just a thought.

I thought about it this. I think I know most of you. There will be some new people I haven't meet.

If you want to bring some simple stick on name tags, go for it.

I am with Doug, I know most... the rest I will just wing it! I will wear a tag thought if it will help but if you ever have that WTF moment, just do what I do... when I meet someone who is new... i usually say straight up that I will have to ask their name 5 times! Now if we spoke a lot online and I just dont have a face, i will remember the first time. At our first get togther at Max and Ermas, I just kept quizing myself all night.

I even know prostock's name and her husbands and never met her. Only a couple on that list I will be lost on...

I'm just terrible with names. It saves those of us geriatric types from having to admit our senior moments are getting the better of us.
