MagnaFlow Vs SLP LoudMouth II Vs LoudMouth Vs Straight Pipes.. NEED YOUR HELP !

Ok here is my problem im debating between 4 different exhaust setup's and dont know which one to go with ! I like the LoudMouth Sound the best but whats the difference between that and just a muffler delete and Straight pipe? If theres something Im not seeing in the picture please let me know because thats the only thing stopping me from the LoudMouth. Now Magna Flow I love their Competition Series Axle-Back but not really liking the 5 inch tips.. Again whats the difference between that and straight pipes ? Now the loudmouth II is the only one with some sort of actual muffler.. I really like the look of them underneath the car plus it doesn't just look like I could've just put straight pipes and got the same sound as MagnaFlow and LoudMouth.. PLEASE help me with my decision as I am completely stuck on what to get..

Here are some Vids Of Each:

^MagnaFlow

^Loudmouth I

^Loudmouth II

^Straight Pipes

Magnaflow Comp axle back and SLP LM I are the same as a muffler delete except that it will also come with different tips. I think the Magnaflow ones are 5". A little big for my taste but there are alot of people who like them.

If I were going to do an axle-back I would've probably gone with the SLP LM II.

Not sure what straight pipes are supposed to be? I'm gussing a resonator delete and a muffler delete? I don't know about that one. I would at least put an X-Pipe in there.

Thing is that it's going to come down to personal preference. What I think sounds good you might think sounds like crap. What I think is loud you might think is too quiet.

For the money, I would tell you to consider the new Cherry Bomb cat-back. You can get it for $400 and sounds pretty good to me. Do a search.

I like the Cherry Bomb but Im not too fond of the overall look of the exhaust. But I really am leaning towards the LM II I like the Sound, Nice look, good gains. Those magnaflow tips are really throwing me off.

I agree the 5" tips are a little bit to big for me. I like the 4.5" tips.

Here is what I did and used the 4.5" Magnaflow tips.
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64964

But....if I were going to stick with an axle-back I think I would go SLP LM II personally.

Any of the shorties shouldn't throw a code because the factory cats will be left alone. I would probably go with Doug Thorley shorties personally but JBA make some as well. I don't know that much about shorties because I'll be doing LTs once I'm ready to make the jump to doing a tune.

I heard there wasn't much gain on the shorties ? Is this true? What hp do you think ill get to the wheels with the doug Thorley Shorties, Loudmouth II, and CAI or Halltech Intake?

Also I see a lot of people voting for the MagnaFlow.. Those voting do you like the look of the 5 inch tips ? I feel thats just REALLY big but i will admit the sound is the best of all three. Those voting if you could post why you voted for whatever one that would be more help.

no difference between SLP LM 1, magnaflow comp series axle back, or straight pipe, except of course the tips.

IMO get a cat-back system. getting an axle-back isn't always good cuz your hacking up your stock exhaust that you might decide to re-install if you choose to sell it.

I just installed the SLP LMII this past weekend. I liked the look and deeper, slightly louder sound compared to stock.

5 inch tips actually look really good on the car, as if they were meant for it.

My vote: Magnaflow.

SOLO is a good product. I came real close to going with that system myself. If you are going to consider SOLO then you should consider the Magnaflow 2.5" Comp Series cat-back (#16580 I believe). The two systems are very similar and either one would be a good choice. SOLO will be about $750 to your door....Magnaflow about $700 if you get it from MagnaflowPlus.com (don't go by their website price, call them and let them know you are from Camaro5). I wouldn't necessarily fight over $50....get the one you feel better with. You won't go wrong with either system.

I basically have this setup (resonated x-pipe and muffler delete with 4.5" tips) and I'm very happy. I wouldn't mind it being just a little louder but eventually a set of headers will fix that.

Take a look at this thread....it might help you decide. There are startup and drive by videos.

How is the sound on the solo all the vid clips I feel don't do it justice.. is it LOUD? thats what im really looking for is a deep, tight, loud sound. Would you say solo is louder than Borla S type but quieter than magnaflow Comp Series ?

I don't have SOLO so I can't answer that. Actually, I would be willing to bet very few if any have heard all three side by side. Even if they did sound is going to be a personal thing. What I think sounds loud you may think is no where near loud enough. What I think sounds nice and deep tone you may think sounds like a tin can. All you'll probably get from that question is the "buy what I have because I like it"....which doesn't necessarily mean you'll like it.

All I can say is that I'm happy with mine which is a resonated x-pipe, muffler delete, and 4.5" tips.....which is SOLO or Magnaflow 2.5" Comp or build yourself.

Here is a prime example. This guy had a SOLO thougt was loud but didn't like it on the highway. He changed it to Corsa and didn't necessarily like it either. Yet you'll have some who swear up and down for SOLO and others who swear up and down for Corsa. It's all in your preference.

I think Im going to go with Solo seems like a really good quality sound and price for a full cat-back. The 5 inch tips i know i will not like I cant find any good pics of the actual tips to see.. what are the size of the stock exhaust?

BTW: the 5" tips are only on the Magnaflow comp axle-back. The cat-back system uses the 4.5" ones like I bought in my thread. They are the same size and angle cut like the SOLO system. Look back at my thread I sent you a couple posts ago.

I'm not trying to take you off the SOLO. It's a good exhaust. If that's the one you feel good with then you should get that one. I'm just saying....don't discount the Magnaflow over the size of the tips on the axle-back. The cat-back is different.

My votes for LMII. I asked Caverman for exhaust advice myself an went round and round but Andy had a set of LM2's for a great price. And the video SLP has of their full system with headers and powerflow X pipe sealed the deal. Although I won't be doing LT's until AFTER my warranty is up. But I suppose if you went with Magnaflow's a good set of ARH LT's would sound great too. It's awesome to have these tough decisions!
