Electric Exhaust Cutouts DMH or QTP?
I really like the idea of having the ability to make my car louder/power boost with the flip of a switch. This has brought me to considering an electric exhaust cutout. I just had the Airaid CAI installed but I want something more. However i have a few concerns about this cutout system:
1.) QTP needs to be welded, could this create an issue down the line? 2.) Will this void my warranty? 3.) Will it pass inspection? 4.) Which brand is better DMH or QTP If anyone has any knowledge on the subject please leave a comment, thanks, Matt |

Man I dont think this would sound good for our engine. I may be wrong but i would test it before adding the cutouts.

i dont see a reason for it to be honest.. not like the v6 exhaust is all that aggressive and loud to need something like that.

I heard a video of the DMH cutouts and for a v6, it sounded just NASTY(in a good way of course). Once I order my exhaust(still undecided between SOLO and MRT) I will most likely be going the cutout route but non-electrical I think. My friend said that with electric cutouts, over time, they wear out and the parts get loose and it doesn't always sound the best with the test of time. Can anyone confirm this? Or is he just talking out of his a$$?

i have used qtp cutouts on several cars i have built and they suck, they loosen up all the time, they never seal right, i had to modify them by putting a roll pin in the shaft and the collar

They work great on turbo charged vehicles, but don't think it will make any difference in power on a NA Gen 5 V6. If you want your car to be loud as hell by the flip of a switch, then I say go for it.
