Best Intake that doesn't require tune.

Pretty much what the title states. Not looking to void my powertrain warranty with a tune. What is the best exhaust in performance/hp gains that doesn't require a tune.

ADM or Cold Air Inductions are the only two choices in my mind for closed filter models and I think Roto Fab is about the only one for a hood seal.

Thanks guys ! Andy I will give you a call tomorrow morning what would be a good time for you? I have always been interested in your intake was going to wait for the LSR to release but with all the new fuss or GM reading ALL tunes Im going to steer as far away as a tune as possible for knowing my luck I need all the warranty I can get ! With that being said how much does your intake run and to everyone what are the gains you guys have seen without a tune on this intake? Thank you again.

Not to hijack the thread or anything but I may call you tomorrow as well Andy. I was ready to buy the CAI intake tonight but after reading some more on your intake... I am now stuck in the CAI vs ADM vortex.

Cold Air Inductions, Inc. intake systems benefits

: Tig welded aluminum air box (high luster finish reflects radiant heat)

: Insulated air box (this adding another layer of thermal (convection) protection)

: Aluminum lid with stainless steel ¼ turn fasteners (fast filter removal)

: Viewing window for fast easy filter inspection.

: High Luster ceramic coated intake tube (coated inside and out, yet another layer of thermal protection)

: One piece smooth bore (101.6mm) intake tube construction (this minimizes bends and restrictions within the system)

: 8” V-stack air filter with built in velocity stack (helps reduce turbulence for truer MAF reading)

: 8 layer air filter (maximizing filtration for prolonged engine life)

Best bet is to go with ADM, CAI or Roto-Fab. Halltech makes a good one too. In the end, the difference between all these systems is minimal.

The Roto-fab intake effectively seals to the hood which provides all of the advantages of a closed box. By using a very large filter and the hood as our "lid" we maximize the area around the filter which is important under quick acceleration when your engine needs that immediate large gulp of air. You don't see this on the dyno, but you feel it on the street. Just look at the hood of a car with our intake or ask a user. You will see the witness mark showing the seal fully contacts the hood for the entire length of our air box.
Here is a link to more specific information on the design of our system and the advantages. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...light=roto-fab
Our intakes are designed with the knowledge accumulated from countless hours on an engine dyno making very minor changes and learning what makes power and what costs power.
Camaro owners certainly have many quality choices out there. If you have specific questions about our system and the options we offer, please contact us. We will take the time to answer them-both before and after the sale.

Thanks Roto-fab I do very much love the look and design of your intake yours is also in consideration. Thanks for the link I have some reading to do

Again my question before to ADM or anyone. What is the difference between the Street and The Race version Im to lazy to do a search and would just rather your opinion. I live in S. Florida if that helps with temperature.

I installed my C.A.I. intake in 15 minutes. No adjustments to the washer bottle. It actually took more time reading the instructions than the actual work to install. It looks great and sounds great! You can hear the engine gulping the air when you first hit the gas. I feel like the car has more hop and I plan to put a vector motorsport tune which will open it up completely. A tune is not needed but I think that is the best way to improve hp for the $ spent.

I have a CAI and love it.
Here is a log from a 12.80 1/4 mile pass I made a wile back. It was 84 deg outside on this pass. The intake air temp is on the right side (IAT)

Choosing between ADM and CAI is one of those decisions where its impossible to get it wrong. They are both great intakes systems. It really just comes down to aesthetics. Do you want the flash of the CAI or do you prefer the more subdued look or the ADM?

The "Race" version is the same as the "Street" except it has a tube that extends out of the bottom of the air box and places a scoop behind the lower front grill that sucks up the cooler fresh outside air. That feature can be added after the fact to the "Street" if you decide you want it later.
