Ehaust question...

I almost hate to ask. i know there has been 1001 treads on exhaust, but has anyone installed the GMPP exhaust on a L99/auto? Also the dealer stated there are 2 styles, a off-road? Thanks for any input.

Check the exhaust section. There's an entire forum dedicated to this sort of thing: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=11

Thanks, I'll check out that forum. I was just looking for someone who used the General Motors Performance Part exhaust on their auto and had any advice. I've listened to most sound clips, but an exhaust systen sounds little different on ever V8, similar but different.

Borla does have a great sound. The car in the video is a manual trans though, their cat back systems have been known to cause drone and bad sound with L99's.

I had a BMRP Stainless Cat-Back Exhaust installed by the dealer. Has a great sound at idle and is noticable while at a constant speed. It'll definately turn heads when you put you foot to the floor, of course everyone wants that.

I was going through the same situation as you. I have read every post on here involving GMPP exhaust and couldn't decide between the standard and off road. After reading enough posts about the AFM kicking in and sounding funky, I was worried that the louder off road would just make this more noticable and annoying, so I ordered the standard GMPP. You can always make some more mods to get louder but trying to make it quieter doesn't work. I also use this as my daily driver and make a 3 hour drive up north quite a bit, I just want a little growl to it without waking up the neighbors when I go to work at 5:30am and not have to listen to the AFM going on and off while driving north. I'll know how it sounds in a week or so!
