Unhappy Help Needed Fast!!!

Alright I was installing my eibach springs today. Three of them went on perfect but somehow I broke one of the front struts. My passenger side strut thread broke on top. When I was using the opened ened 24mm wrench and t50 hex screw to pull the spring off the strut, the threaded tip of the strut broke. So now I need a new one.

Any advice on who carries them or where I can find one? I imagine I'll have to wait to go on monday to get a replacement from chevy.

If you are in the Houston area and want to sell me one please email,pm, or call. kylemorse84@hotmail.com. 713-254-0746

Thanks in advance!

Can you re-thread the top part to get the nut back on?

Tried that with no success. Chevy dealer told ke two weeks due to backorder. Going to pick up a set of struts that Henessy has left over from a coil over install tomorrow.

When exactly did it break? Removing or tightening the first nut or the second? Were you using an impact gun or using a wrench and allen.

Have you found a replacement yet?

thanks

Removing the second nut, and I was using the wrench and Torx wrench method. Wish I would have just used an impact wrench to start with. It got it off so much easier.

Wow,
that is wild. Usually these issues are the related to the top nut that can be seriously tight.

I myself always use an impact gun with the torque turned down. Maybe I have been really lucky.

Did you have any luck with Fastlanes? They have done a bunch of coil overs.

there have been several hundred Xas installed on SS's So there are a lot of OE struts floating around.

Did you put info in the for sale section?

I called LMR, Fastlane, east tx muscle, and hennessey. Hennessey was the only company with some immediately available. I installed the new strut last night and everything turned out great.

I had no problems with getting any other bolts off, which I found strange since I heard how tight others were. I would definitley advise people to use an impact Wrench if they have one available.

So everything is good now, and im loving the way the new eibach springs ride!
