Input needed...3 inch exhaust owners

I'm looking to add a 3 inch exhaust when the new ride comes in. I like the sound of the MPRB. But would like others opinion. I was going to go with the ATAK but... Mods on my car will be s/c, 1 7/8 Kooks long tubes and cats

I have also narrowed down my choices between cat backs: MBRP or ATAK. Very interested in your responses. Thanks Xavier

Kooks 2" headers and full 3" exhaust combo here. Perfect fit/match and no neck-downs anywhere in the system.

Sounds bad ass and good price. Highly recommend.

Why don't you just get the complete Kooks system in 3" with the long tubes

As far as I know, the Kooks 3" system is the only exhaust system that doesn't neck down. I did quite a bit of research before buying mine and theres was the only one at the time and their FULL 3" version had only been out 1 week prior

Good timing!

BTW, hard to tell in the vid but here's my Kooks on the dyno:

and this on the street, better quality:

My spintech is 3" all the way. Just talked to Ron and he will make you what ever you want. Bolted right up to my kooks. I thought buying a 3" exhaust with 3" collectors and a 3" midpipe with a 2.5" neck down and neck up was stupid so I just asked spintech and kooks if they could put something together for me and they both said no problem

Dude, you MUST post a video of your exhaust.

That is exactly the combo that I have been wanting to hear... Spintech with headers.

I don't care how ya do it, but get it done.

I know I'm slacking

I also ordered it with no cats. Probably a different set up than most have/want.

Don't rule out the TSP system, if you aren't completely committed to the Kooks stuff you could really get great bang for the buck out of the TSP complete exhaust system. It's proven to be one of the most powerful exhaust systems available, and it's by far the best buy!!

Think of you trying to force a ton of water down a pipe. Would you rather have a pipe that is 3" the full way through, or would you rather have a pipe that is 3" for 6 feet, then necks down to 2.5" for 1" then goes back to 3" for another 6".

Essentially, just like a chain an exhaust system the smallest "neck down" is the weakest link and nulls any 3" anywhere else in the system since that will be a pressure build-up point.

Just my 2c.

If your car is an automatic I would recommend MBRP. I have their system specifically designed for L99 with AFM and it sounds pretty good! Too many people out their complaining about how terrible their cars sound when AFM kicks in with most other systems. MBRP sounds great even in V4 mode.
