Midwest Modern Muscle Car Association

Hello guys and gals!
I wanted to know if there are any modern era muscle car owners out here that might be interested in getting a club together with some other makes. I am a car guy at heart so I respect those who respect others and would like to get a Modern Day Muscle car club started in the Midwest. If there are some already out there then send some info my way. If not and your interested in getting one together drop me a PM. I am not just talking Pontiac GTO and Chevrolet Camaro's either. I want to get the Mustang guys and the Challenger guys together as well. Think modern day USA if you will. Not that I have anything against imports, it just not the same to me.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Bryan

And if anyone could help me find the best forums for Mustang, Challengers, GTO's, please pass them on to me.

Funny you ask I actually started up a club in central Missouri called Modern Muscle.
We are very new and really just got off the ground.

If you are interested in starting one I would be more then happy to help, or if you like the name can start a chapter in your area.

Here is a copy of the logo that we are currently working on. The club is still in the ground stages we are still finalizing the bi-laws and all that good stuff.
The gist of what we are thinking of going for is any muscle car that is EFI, so anything from the early 90s to today. Nothing is in stone yet.

Still working on it. Their is a group down near St. Louis that is a little further along with the idea than I am so they are helping me get it put together.

Anyone have any ideas as how to decide what cars qualify as "modern"? Someone I talked to said maybe anything that was sold new with Fuel Injection.

I think that they should count. But I would also love to own one so I might be bias. But they would fit the bill, V8 rear wheel or AWD and built to kick butt.

Sorry no updates so far but here is what has been started for my chapter.
Pretty standard nothing to special yet at far as how its being run.
This was from another member that got this from a standardized form for club registration and bylaws. We are modifying them for our purpose but this is a really good start.

1. PURPOSE OF CLUB: A. Promote the sport and hobby of owning, altering, building, and modifying muscle cars that at stock fuel injected, any other vehicle must be voted on for admittance into the club. B. To encourage family participation in such sport. C. To promote friendship, support organization functions held by such club, as well as others who have such interest.

2. OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS: A. All officers and directors shall be elected by a majority of the members present at any annual meeting or special meeting called for that purpose. B. The club will consist of four (4) officers. C. The officers are: President, President-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer;

3. OFFICERS' RESPONSIBILITY: A. PRESIDENT: The President will preside over all meetings called for and he will act as an ambassador to any functions or activities held by the club or any other club he is asked to attend. He will seek ways to help build membership, create ideas, and help promote and maintain interest for and by its members. He shall meet at least once a quarter with his board of officers. He shall also be responsible to plan and oversee the budget of the club funds for the next year during his term of office. B. PRESIDENT-ELECT: The President-Elect will preside over all meetings called for if the President is unable to attend. He, too, will act as ambassador to any functions the President cannot attend. He will be in charge of all chairmen committees and report to the president as needed. He will keep and update the membership roster, collecting and keeping a record of who has and has not paid club dues, with a current dues roster; collect monies for and order club jackets and shirts; and keep the Newsletter Editor informed on who should receive a newsletter. He will work with the Secretary and Treasurer in keeping those records that are necessary. The President-Elect shall succeed to the position of President after the annual meeting after which they are elected. C. SECRETARY: The Secretary will be responsible for the minutes for all meetings called for, for roll call, and handling all correspondence brought forth by the club and its members. And shall keep the President aware of any and all incoming correspondence that should be brought forth to club members. The Secretary may, however, designate any person to keep the minutes for any meeting. D. TREASURER: The Treasurer will be responsible for all monies received and disbursed by the club. He must keep a complete account of all such matters by a ledger, and when called upon, present such matters to the club, and for the yearly audit which will be conducted yearly, and for the incoming Treasurer, prior to assuming the office. The audit committee will consist of the outgoing Treasurer, the incoming Treasurer, and an audit committee consisting of two (2) members appointed from the club by the President. NEWSLETTER EDITOR: At the annual meeting in June, a Newsletter Editor will be elected by a majority vote of club members present, and will continue as newsletter editor for a term of one year,, unless he is removed from office or resigns. He or she will be directly responsible to the club President and the Board of Officers who will assist the Editor, and the Board of Officers will decide on the proper types of articles to be published if the question should arise. The Newsletter Editor will NOT be a member of the Board of Officers and will not have voting powers other than that of a regular member.

4. HOLDING OFFICE: A. Anyone wanting to hold office of said club may do so by being elected by its members as a whole, during the yearly election of club officers, and must have been a member of the club for one year prior to holding any office. If a member is unable to complete his/her term of office for any reason, a member may be appointed to fill the remainder of the term of office by the Board of Officers, called in a special meeting. B. Offices must be held for one (1) year or until their successors are elected and qualified.

5. MEMBERSHIP: A. Any person or persons and family, 18 years or older, will be eligible for membership to said club. B. Application of such person or persons must be voted on by the club membership present at a monthly meeting. C. Applicants must have a vehicle in PRESENTABLE "Show" condition. If not, he or she must have a vehicle in such condition by the end of the fiscal year of application or forfeit membership. If they do not have a vehicle on the road and in PRESENTABLE "Show" condition, the President will appoint a committee to inspect the vehicle to see if progress is being made. Upon the recommendation by the committee, they may be given an additional year to get said vehicle on the road. Example of PRESENTABLE "Show" condition: Price Guide No. 3: VERY GOOD: Completely operable, original or older restoration showing wear; or amateur restoration; all presentable and serviceable inside and out. The month following their presentation to club members, the members present at that meeting will vote to accept or reject the prospective member's application. If accepted, the prospective member will be considered a member of the club. If rejected by a majority of the members present, the prospective member will be notified at that time, or be written notice by the club Secretary and all dues received with the application will be returned to the person.
