I don't think you can at this point- they're just "Pre-orders" with a confirmation code that Chevy has received them. Once the orders are actually "dropped" in December we'll have a much better chance I would think.

Not sure I understood completely but thopught I read you can go to your dealer to track your order or there is a phone number to call. You do need to have your 6 digit alphanumeric number from the dealer. Tracking begins after the orders actually go to the factory, not before.
I'm sure Scotty can answer this better but I'm guessing he's pretty busy right now.

That's my understanding also. You can call customer service (or your dealer) once the orders are "dropped" in December to check your status.

little help

Ive been lurking around the forums for a month or so now but never really posted. My friends tell me i am crazy cause i spend sooo much time reading the forums everyday. But in reading the forums it is great to hear about people receiving their cars, some people i feel like i even know a little bit through their long stories from order to delivery. I have to say each time i read a story of a delivery it makes me smile to know someone has finally seen their dream come true and receive their car. With that being said i was wondering if anyone can help me out i finally was able to receive my order number from my dealer today (NKDTJ9) if anyone can help me track it i would be ever grateful. Thanks in advanced for any help.

Cool Tracking your Camaro

I ordered my 2LT, RS, SIM, Grey Interior, Sunroof, 20" Polished Wheels on May 7, recieved my order number - NKCJ8P on May 9th. Been bugging my salesman to death (not from his standpoint, I just felt like I was) ...so I called CS yesterday to check on my order.... KNOWING full well, I "should" still be at 1100. "Jeffrey" told me that my car had been PRODUCED!!! I told him "NO WAY, I only ordered it three weeks ago." He said oh, well let me check it again.... he came back saying "apparently he couldn't access the info twice in the same day & that he'd call me back today after trying to figure it all out." Well, I'm still waiting on that call...... All I did was confuse myself. A friend ordered his Camaro yesterday afternoon & my salesman (I recommeded him) told my friend it'd be 3-4 months for his to be delivered. So, I'm guessing mine will be delivered early Sept., cuz I don't think we can rely on what Customer Service tells us.

Well they just told me I was being produced and my dealer confirmed. I ordered on May 8th and mine is already moving so anything could be possible. Especially if your dealer had allocation and sells a large number of cars. I think you will see your car by the end of July or at least beginning of August. Sep seems to far off when mine has gone to 3000 in 2.5 weeks.

Your dealer jsut has to go to the GM workbench and check their inventory, The car will show there and have a current event code. Some salesmen are not aware of this. Once they pull your order up, they can check the event code history that shows all of the event codes and dates of those code changes.

You should be in contact with someone else at the dealership. If another salesman wasn't assigned, I would ask to talk to the manager.

Yea he can. It's on the same page that shows priority. There's a link on the workbench page for "event history"... that will show your current and past status codes as well as the dates of those events.

By chance is there anyone here with access that could tell me what event code(s) my '10 is sitting at?

I've tried getting info out of the dealer, but every time I talk to them the damn story or timeline changes. I'm getting a little aggrivated with them at this point.

Order Detail #: NGCMHF

I have been religiously watching the 2010 Camaro database and saw a VIN pop up for what I *believe* to be my car. Just wanting to make sure.

Would be much appreciated!

If you're car has been produced and it's been assigned a VIN your dealer should be able to call the DBC (Dealer Business Center) and get an update. If he doesn't know what the DBC is, tell him to turn off the lights and lock his doors because he's too stupid to be in business....

When I called him yesterday, he said the car had gone into production, and should finish by July 17th...

Please tell me it doesn't take 1+ months to build the car.

I've been trying to be civil about the whole issue. I try to avoid calling them on a daily basis and never try to sound angry. In fact, when I call it's about once every two weeks on a Friday afternoon. One thing that bothers me is they never seem to know any solid information, and if they claim they do, the next time I call, the story changes to something completely different.

I know the car has been ordered as I got the packet from GM within a couple of weeks of making the actual order, so they're not completely giving me the run-around. The thing that annoys me the most though, is the fact that when I call them for an update they don't have the information, claim they will look it up and give me a call back, but I never do get a call back... ever.

I know how you feel. I would make it clear to them that you are expecting more information out of them. They can log onto GM Global Connect and find your order status. There's a page that lists the dates for each status code. Just ask them to copy and paste that into an email to you. You might want to go there in person and ask them to show you your order history screen if the phone isn't working.

But yea, it will take over a month from when it's "placed" to production and when it actually arrives. You can see when mine was sent to production (2000) and it was just built yesterday.

Problem with me going there and looking at it is I have to drive 253 miles to get to the dealership. Kind of the craptacular part of living in the middle of nowhere.

However, I'm thinking that it made 3800 yesterday because a VIN popped up with the exact same options I had ordered on my car. Dealer told me there were 2 yellow cars ordered. First came through on 6/3/09 and was not mine due to the options ordered. Second yellow car came through the database yesterday.

That of course assumes 3800 is reached when the car gets a VIN assigned to it.
