Took about 4 hours. Im very happy with it. I cleaned the motor while waiting for the coats to dry. Love those stripes you have.

Thanks man! let me ask you something.. did you sand them at all to scuff em up? Or did you just clean them with a de-greaser and paint away?

Took off the covers and hand washed them with alittle bit of dawn and water..just alittle. Then cleaned that with twice as much water. I let it dry completely. Then used painters tape to mask off. Easy. Make sure its dry and clean before you paint.

I used a sharpie for the letters. I took my time with lettering.

I was just about to post that link for Dpsyphered but you beat me to it.

I tried the sharpie but had a hell of a time with it. For me the vinyl letters were worth the extra money not to hassle with it.

The main thing to get from my mistakes is.....READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE CAN! and of course follow them.

BTW: Nice work Hubcap.....glad you were able to get it done the first time.

Looks good! All it takes is a little splash of color to really dress up that engine compartment. Planning to do this soon to my IBM.
