No Mike's for us. Touchless car wash only.
Touchless doesn't always do a very good job, so I hand wash semi-frequently as well. Particularly the front end. dang bugs.

I know Mike's has soft cloth, but I am afraid it's soft cloth loaded with all the grime off the 50 cars and trucks that went through before us. Little bits of grime just waiting to scrape across the paint at a high rate of speed. I have enough issues with paint chips as it is, don't need a bazillion little scratches as well.

Absolutely not. To many opportunities for scratches, swirl marks etc. Just think of everyone elses dirt on those strips that wipe all over your Camaro! Ugh! I use the self serve Mikes Express on Pendleton Pike where it using the hand sprayer. I don't use the soap brush. I love the the spotless rinse and the hand held air dryer. That ensures no marks or spots on the car.

Once a year???? More like once a week! Adam's Adam's Adam's. Go to the car wash section and look up Junkmans' posts.

Anybody interested in going to this Friday night? As long as the weather holds out, I am going. Need to find a race helmet as I might make a pass on the track. My MC helmet isn't a Snell 2006, so I can't use it.

I'm a fan of washing every Friday night. But detailing with the buffing and polishing... That's a once year thing.

I'm tentative... gotta work out some details at home with kid logistics...

Well, I can't seem to find any more details on this... like time, and where to go at the track, etc... nothing listed on their site except the fact there is an event.

OldSchool if you are still going and are going to make a pass, wear long pants. You need them too.
I found a helmet to use so I am going to make a pass in the 68.

Made my pass in the 68! Done this on street tires and full exhaust. Came off the line slow and easy till about the 60 foot mark and nailed it. Tires started spinning had to let all the way out and then eased back into it till full throttle. I over reved 1st to 7000 on the limiter and after a few seconds I decided to shift...lol! I shifted to 3rd at 6600 and went through the traps at 6500. My 60 footer was a 1.91 and my 1/4 mile time was a 11.625 @124 mph. I think if I had the slicks on and the exhaust open and the weather was a lot better than the 90 degrees and 65% humidity the car should have run a low to mid ten pass. Not too bad for a pump gas street car!

It was just too hot. I had to pass on ORP. I couldn't find a helmet and I knew if I went and couldn't run, I would be bummed. Maybe next time.

Unfortunately not, I will do my best to find something out tomorrow, but I rarely see the person who would have the final say in the matter. I will be sure to pass along any info as soon as I find out!

Another idea I was thinking about was having a meet at Fastimes. They have a pretty good sized parking lot, and people could go inside and do go carting. I have been there before and it is a lot of fun. I also know that if we had enough interest we could probably look into getting the place rented out just for us. I know we did this several years ago with a bar I used to go to (Taylor's). I am not sure of the cost but I could look into it if we have enough interest.

^^ You have my interest.

And as for an update to the Sam's meet. . . I talked to the wife of the head of our marketing team today and she said they are OK with it and now need to let our GM look it over. He wasn't there today but she said they should give it to him to look over tomorrow. I work tomorrow and all weekend, so hopefully I will have something definite to share by the beginning of next week at the latest.

I've never been there. I'm looking at their website now, and it looks really cool.
