Question Such a newbie question...bring on the flaming

I've read so many forum posts on the LS3 and L99.. and yet I am still having trouble understanding the fundamental difference between them.. Same thing goes for the A6 and M6.. if anybody can enlighten me it would be much appreciated.
Sorry I am such a noob

The LS3 is the engine that comes with the 6-speed Manual V-8 cars,
The L99 is the engine that comes with the 6-speed Automatic V-8 cars.
Fundamentally, they are the same eng, with the L99 having AFM (Active-Fuel Management) and 26 less HP.
The A6 refers to the Automatic 6-Speed transmission,
The M6 refers to the Manual 6-Speed transmission.

Anything Else???
