In the dealership's defense, the Concept had a switch/push-button start.

...

But the production car does NOT. You get a cool switchblade-style key, instead!

No. You push a button and the key swings out of the fob. Mercedes keys are just fobs that you stick into the ignition or something like that.

Srill looking for a photo if someone can find it.
Merceds have "Switchblade" keys and fiber optic keys( no key, just communciates with LEd at the end of the FOB)

why look for it when a crazy-a$$ moderator saves every picture he sees?

This is kinda blurry, but it's the clearest one I've seen outside of Scott's hand (one that I cannot find, ironically...)

Well either thats the wrong key or they have a remote start on the manual or they used the same model keyfob for both and just dont have the remote start even though the fob has the button for it.

Just looking at the key excites me! I want to get that thing on my keychain and into the ignition as soon as possible.

switch blade...kind of a bummer considering all the key technology out there now...

Switchblade is so....2000...

I drive rentals every week..so I have exposure to a fair amount and having a 'blade' is just...well...not very 'new'. I like the C6 keyless entry ignition...or the bmw/volvo type were you just insert the fob. Also...the key is unnecessarily large and won't fit in my pocket nicely. Minor annoyance...but still...how hard would it have been to use the Corvette key?

Switchblades started on Mercedes in early 90s... mid 90s on range rovers... great keys! Not bad for remote start on automatics... laser cut key keeps thefts down even though the car has onstar
