Test Drive

So yesterday I walked into a dealership, I wanted to get some info on 2011's and test drive a manual 1/2ss. Well I spent 2 minutes in that dealership, without me saying anything the salesman made all these assumptions. One of those assumptions was could I afford this much car, and I probably won't get a good finance rate. I don't want to sound conceded, but this will be a second car for me, and I have been driving nice cars for years. So I decided to walk out of that place and move on to the next one my list, where I actually was treated with a little more respect. The sales man grabbed the keys before we sat down to discuss anything.

The second I turned that key, I knew this was the car for me. I got chills down my spine when I revved the engine to exit the parking lot. I was very respectful to the car on this test drive, I took some turns with some speed, but I never pushed the engine passed 2600rpm's. Also the seats are really comfortable, I can see myself on really long trips. I was in love with this car the first time i saw it in 2006. This car truly exceeded all of my expectations. I don't know how I'm going to wait a few months till I get one.

Now I just have to find a good dealership, the one I test drove at is selling at msrp. I spoke to a couple of dealers in the area and they all seem to be selling at sticker. I will definitely have my work cut out for me. In the end it will be worth it.

Salesmen who make assumptions on what an individual can afford or how much money they have are very good at losing sales. I say good for them, they get what they deserve, nothing.

Check with some of the dealers who are members here like BeckyD@RodgersChevrolet.

Many members have gotten great deals on cars from them.

Since I have a leased vehicle, that I'm trying to unload early, I figured I would search for a good deal locally. Since I'm slightly upside down in my lease, either a good trade value or a good discount off the camaro of my dreams will work for me. So far the one sale's guy I spoke to was unable to do anything on either side. There have been some good recommendations made to me in the greater nj,ny area through members on here, which I greatly appreciate, I will be visiting them in the next couple of weeks. My trade is whats keeping me from going to an out of state dealership at the moment. If it doesn't seem feasible for me to get out of this lease now, I will just wait 8 months and return it, then Ill check out the member dealerships/sales people on here.
