I may talk to a couple more dealers, but I don't think I can wait, I'm too excited for one, and my current driving car is starting to die.
1. the GMS is actually a couple hundred above dealer cost (its not much, but it isn't a 'no profit sale'
2. my dealer assured me that whatever incentives and discounts i qualified for and were available from GM i would get.

Soooo, MILITARY DISCOUNT????? is that usually the same as the GMS price i'm going crazy trying to find out!

Very nice thanks, the prices seem very reasonable for what you get. When do you think the "Build your own" feature will be on Chevy's website?

Thanks for posting the invoice prices--will get them into my database right away. So anyone who wants to configure a Camaro and compare it to competitors...

As for GMS and GMU--GM doesn't charge the dealer as much for those cars, the dealer pays less than the usual invoice price. So they still make money on those sales, if far less than if they sold a car at MSRP.

I would wait, I think it's a unique feature worth the wait. It should only add $350 to the car.

IIRC, supplier pricing is 4% of MSRP (excluding destination) over the employee price. So unless a product is hot, it's not a great price. But since the Camaro is hot...

Look at the paper and use a calculator?

I love being an employee. My Camaro can come in under 29k. Which is right by my original estimate! I pledge allegiance to the General.

Can anyone fill me on on how Employee Pricing works? I have a friend that works for GM and he swears up and down all he has to do is call, give me some code, and I'm good to go to get EP on the car.

Prices for dealer-installed options don't include installation, right?

Basically that's how it works.

But you'll get Supplier Pricing, not Employee Pricing. At least I hope he knows that...he can lose all of his discounts if he gives out a GMS discount to a non-GM employee who isn't family.

Not currently true. About a year ago they changed it so employees can get you a "friends and family price," which might be identical to the supplier price, so a few hundred over invoice.

I'm guessing he either didn't get the memo when they changed the policy, or the conversation with the friend took place before the change.

In response to the military pricing being the same, I know when they were doing the "employee pricing for everyone" I got an email saying to go to the gmmilitarysales.com website to figure out what the price would be. So I'm going to go out on a limb and say that military pricing will be the same as what we're looking at here. It was really nice seeing the amount I was going to be spending drop after getting this email.
