Unhappy Today is not my day

So it was a nice day today. After lunch with my mom and grandma, I decided to go for a nice drive to some outlet mall one hour away. Well I was driving down a backroad, no posted speed limits, and everyoine was going about 70. 45 minutes into the drive I see a highway patrol officer coming th other direction. He passes me and immediately turns around. I knew what was happening. Well since I didn't know the limit I slowed down to 65, and he still pulled me over.
He said I was going 74 and asked me if I knew the speed limit. I told him no since there were no posted speed limits the entire time I was driving.
Well he says all one lane roads are 55 in California, I had no idea. I know ignorance is no excuse, but seriously, how much could it hurt the state to post a speed limit every 20 miles or so.

Anyway, I'm planning on going to court and asking for driving school.

The day isn't over though. When I left the mall I saw an SUV leaving the spot next to me. I made sure to park far away and the parking lot was pretty empty. I don't understand why out of all the spots he could've parked in, he parks right next to me.
Well sure enough, I get closer to my car and I see a white mark on the upper passenger door. Luckily it was just his paint on it. But he left a pretty good size dent. . I tried chasing down the guy, but he was gone by the time i noticed the damage.

I have a headache.................

Other than the person who actually HIT my car a while back, I've been lucky enough to not have any door dings. Sorry man, that sucks.

And obviously I've had my share of 'paperwork' for driving fast. Hate it when that happens.

Man, that sucks bad!

When I read the title of this thread I thought it was going to be another one of those "I clicked my gas cap 2 times" threads... and was gearing up my twisted sense of humor.

That said... !

Dang Milk sorry to hear bud!

Yeah the 55 MPH rule here in CA caught me when I was 16 LOL Sucks, I love the driving school ability though, do it online much easier and faster to do. It's super easy if you have not done one before.

I hear ya about the SUV, people do that to me all the time, it's usually a beat up ol Honda Civic that parks next to me... frustrating, there are hundreds of open spots why do they park next to me!!?

Don't know if you know this but they can tag you while driving in the opposite direction. Learned this when I was driving to school one night. Place is a speed trap directed at college students as its 25mph zone in between two long ass farms. Cops already pulled one over so I slowed down a bit, but a cop coming in the opposite direction tagged me doing 36 in a 25. I had no driving record at that point, and the cop must have gotten a call to break up some college party because as soon as I gave him my info he gave it back and said just drive a little slower in the future (I was about 1/4 mile from my dorm). He then got in his cars turned on his siren and drop right past me at about 60mph.

Welcome to the club of people who have been targeted by jerk cops because of their car. I had a cop follow me for 8 miles on a freeway here where the limit was 65mph. I had my cruise set on 67 and didn't know that the limit changes to 55 for about 2 miles...as soon as I got there the cop pulled me over and claimed I was doing 70+. Hopefully you can do traffic school

J/k!! But on the flip side, that definately is a bummer for sure. Although I think its ridiculous your getting pulled over when you were going with the flow of traffic considering everyone was going roughly around the same speed, regardless of it being 55 max on the roads..

As for the parking incident..your car is a magnet for all kinds of stupid in this world, esp SoCal and no matter how close or far away you park your vehicle, its always bound for something to happen! Hope everything works out bro!

I had a 1975 4WD Vega Stationwagon (custom built) back in the day. Had 38.5 monster mudders on it. Bottom of the vehicle was 36" from the ground.

I had it parked in a store parking lot. My Wife and I were walking out to it when a jeep pulled up and rammed a shopping basket to move it. The basket wedged under the frame of my Vega. The frame and drive train were chopped from a 75 GMC Jimmy. I walked up and questioned the intelligence of shoving a basket with one's vehicle and not caring where it went. The woman with the guy told him to appologise but he just acted an arse about it.

No problem.... as I got into my Vega I was pissed and slung the door out and left a nice indentation in the top of his hood. I just mumbled "your welcome" and left. The love tap did bend the bottom corner of my door but I was able to just bend it right back out.

Some folks do not care about anyone or anything..... they only want you to care about them.
