Trying to save money.

Man oh man is this tough. I filled her up yesterday and have been driving I guess how normal people drive. Been getting 19.6 MPG out of her around town.

But dang it is boring, getting 14.5 to 15.5 is alot more fun. Don't know how long I can hang on driving it like a normal person.

I know what you mean... even with my V6, I've yet to go a whole tankfull without romping on the pedal a couple times. I really WANT to drive normal, but it's just so tempting.

I drive it like I ride my MC, 'cept I don't lane share.
In fact, I call it my 4 wheeled Motorcycle.
If I want to go for a 'relaxed' ride, I let my wife drive.

I don't ever check my fuel mileage in my Camaro, I have my Jeep for the gas mileage.

I get 10-11 mpg in my SS 100% city driving. It drives me crazy driving this thing slowly.

I have been averaging around 19 but that dropped to around 15 since I added MGW quick shifter..... I am just having too much fun playing tunes on the gearbox now !
I guess I better get back to more sensible driving mode - but heck its fun !

Those of you getting good gas mileage: What octane are you using?

After I broke mine in I drove it like I was nuts, seemed like I was constantly putting $20 in it, sometimes twice a day, then I checked my mileage, filled it up, drove until it was about 1/8th tank, went back to the same pump and found out I was getting 6.5mpg. WTF. So I did it again, driving it like a nut and got 6.8mpg. WTF, then I drove it like a grandma, and I got 16.4mpg. After that I just drove it normal and still used its power now and then, now I average about 15mpg. I have never gotten over 16.4mpg. But I drive almost all city. I need to go on a small trip.

That sounds about right for normal driving around town... so far this tank I haven't mashed the pedal and I'm getting 27.5. Driving in town kills it though and it takes a long time for it to start inching back up there.

How do you do it? I usually drive at what I consider to be "normal" in my 1SS L99 and get 14 to 14.5 in mixed driving. i use all three transmission modes. sometimes regular automatic, sometimes M (sport mode) and sometimes S (button shifters). I use Sunoco 93 octane gasoline only. As someone above stated, to me this car is an additional motorcycle too. When I want good mileage I use my Buick Century, 20 city and 30 highway or my FLSTC, 35 city and 45 highway.

Yep, same here! My husband just bought a shirt with an IOM Camaro on the front that says "Drive It Like You Stole It." He only drives it that way when I'm not in the car. How do I know? From all the burnt rubber on the fenders
