People that have changed/modified exhaust.

I had my QTP exhaust cut outs intalled a few weeks ago and I love them. On another thread I read that some exhaust mod's can negatively effect your low end power (< 2000RPM) over the stock exhaust system.

I can verify that there does seem to be a difference with the cutouts completely open -vs- closed when I hit the gas hard after letting the clutch out in 1st gear. When I have the cutouts open there seems to be a slight hesitation, and just not as much power when I accelerate hard.

I don't know what the actual HP or performance reduction is but there is certainly a difference when opened -vs- closed. Is this something that is specific to exhaust cutouts or is this the same with other systems like Borla, Loud Mouth, etc?

Anyone that is considering modifying/replacing the stock exhaust may want to know how performance can be affected.

I think it has to do with back pressure I think this would be more suited in one of the V8/V6 threads!!!!

Thanks for your recommendation to move this post but I have not had good luck in getting any responses when I post in the other forums, but thanks for your concern.

OMG, moderator please move this post to the V8 add on forum. I think i have inadvertently upset some members for posting this in the open forum. I didn't realize we had so many forum monitors!

Does anyone know if Borla ran a decibel reading test in the interior of the 2010 Camaro for the Touring, S-Type, & ATAK exhaust system? And if so what were the readings? Thanks

The other forums take a little bit longer since they don't have a lot of traffic. But eventually you will get a lot more meaningful replies by people who actually know what they are talking about.

magnaflow

I had a magnaflow straight pipe mufflers installed with x-pipe and kept factory pipes....the sound is killer not too loud..and my acceleration is a lot quicker. checkout lousplymouth.com to see the system i had installed by them. They are in plymouth mass.
