Question Coupe or convert?

I'm at a crossroads here, I have always drove a T-Top car and i love the open air feel and the looks it gets. I love to flaunt my car, but i need to know if the convert. as usual is gonna weigh more than the coupe, and is there and hope for T-Tops?

No hope of T Tops, and the Convert will probably weigh apx 150ish pounds more. But don't quote me on the weight, thats just a figure o've heard. I've also heard the car is strong enough without extra reinforcment for a convert.

Well luckily it doesn't get very cold here, and good point if they don't offer a hard top that makes a big difference. I'm only thinking about it for the cruising, I'll have my Army ACU's on and the top down, that would be bad ass. But on the other hand the added weight hurts the insatiable desire in me to race and the cloth's look hurts the appearance on a cold or rainy day. Not to mention it will probably require more maintenance.

I guess it would be tough to design T-Tops with that roof line, hmmm... oh well.

I am having the same issue. I have said for the last 2 yrs I am waiting for the vert. But a fully loaded RS/SS vert is gonna be out of this world price wise. These decisions are driving me mad.

i think when you look at pictures of the prepro convertible that it keeps the lines of the car AMAZINGLY well. and it looks 10x better then any other convertible with the top up.

Having a car with T-tops doesn't spontaneously cause you to grow a mullet you know.

Hardtop is aggressive, but the Convertible is topless...

I'd much rather have the topless one.

I'm in the middle of Oklahoma and I managed to get a car with T-tops without any scalp modification.

i dont want any of the mullet wearers from the east end of my county fondling or touching my car because they are drawn to the t-tops.....dont get me wrong, i dont mind t tops on other people's cars, i just don't like them because i personally think it makes a car look less performance orientated. and im also not saything no one has a fast car with t tops. im just saying i dont like them personally.

no t-tops and yes...adding a vert top/bracing, will make the car heavier.

I'm waiting to drive both back to back. I have a Chevy dealer mins from my house and will be taking my own test drive path that I have driven a great deal in other cars. I'm concerned about the weight and somewhat the additional price.

I have never had a convertible and I feel like I want one though. May rent one in the summer and in the winter to see how I like it.

I'm holding off until the 'vert comes out.

1. I haven't had a drop-top since my Wrangler...and I miss it (especially since having one on our honeymoon recently).

2. By then, HUD will be available.

3. The renovations on the house will be done...so I can afford to get rid of the Avalanche (which will be hard to do :( )

Some questions regarding the 'vert though.

1. Will it have the ambient lighting? I only ask because lighting in some vehicles is different when you go from sedan/coupe to convertible.

2. Will there be an SS1/SS2 option like the coupe...or will it be structured differently?

3. Will the top fold into the trunk (if so, people with experience...does it take up the entire trunk?)...or will it fold down with a tonneau cover (If so, will it be a hard tonneau like the 350Z or soft like the VW Beetle.)...or will it just be folded down out in the open?

I think your questions are still a little early. but sometimes to even get the convertible you have to get an upgraded package, like there will probably not be a LS version of the convertible, and I would almost put money on the fact you will probably have to get the LT2 to get one... but that is just my guess.
