Header LT quesiton

2 part question.

1. What is the difference in chrome, ceramic and 304 (stainless) headers? Other than 304 being higher in price than ceramic and ceramic being higher in price than chrome. What is the benefits of each?

2. I've heard headers can "burn out valves" and does not allow the engine to last as long as a stock exhaust manifold. This is true or can someone break it down for me?

BTW looking the 1 3/4 BBK LTs with high flow cats. My goal is to have a straight bolt on as I'll need to keep my resonator (L99) for AFM purpose (AFM can't not be tuned out...yet... working on the wife still :P). Ok one more question, even with LTs with High Flow cats, does anyone still get a code thrown?

Thanks

You may still have a code thrown with cats. I did the Jethot Ceramic Coated Doug Thorley long tubes. They insulate the heat and get it sent out the pipes quicker keeping your underhood temps as low as they can possibly be, if you decide to not do cats I would def consider the thorleys.. they are a gorgeous product and you can usually pick them up for under $650 shipped.

Okay...so a code will be thrown with cats and they will definitely be thrown without? Is there any way to not get a code with this mod?

Anyone else, get codes with high flow cats on LTs?

Only way is to go with shorty's. LT's will throw code sooner or later cats or not.

You can get O2 sensor jumpers or tune out the codes.

BBK is installing LT's, CAI, Mid-pipes etc. on my car here in the next couple of weeks and doing a "how to" video that will get posted up here on Camaro5. As soon as I get the exact dates I can let you know.

I went longtubes and then bought the diablosport predator and had 06MonteSS do a custom email order tune on my car tuning out the o2 sensors. and it made alot of difference with the tune as well. smoothed everything out quite nicely.

That's the absolute best ticket! Monte's tunes are a deal and the best of both worlds by owning the actual Handheld as well.

The Long Tubes are fantastic, everybody is getting great numbers with them and even after 9108 miles, the ones I have on my car STILL look like they did the day I pulled them out of the box!

I can set you up like these guys were setup. PM me for a price if you'd like.

Woot to the WOOT!
