2010 Camaro Indy Pace Car/Festival Cars at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Pole Day

My dad and I drove my Inferno Orange Metallic with white Rally Stripes 2010 Camaro RS from Chicago to Indy to see Pole Day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). We saw the actual Camaro Pace Car as well as dozens of Camaro Festival Cars used by IMS and Indycar officials (highest license plate number we saw was #49). There was even a parking lot in the paddock that contained over 30 of the festival cars in one place! It looked like a parking lot outside of the factory in Canada.

I would recommend attending this event to anyone because for only a ten dollar general admission ticket you could go anywhere on the IMS property. We saw several racing personalities in the pits and paddock and I was even able to purchase a cool 2010 Camaro Indy Pace Car t-shirt. Helio Castro Neves won the pole with a four lap average of 227.9 mph!! Enjoy the pics!

Ordered my shirt and a bunch of other goodies last week... man I wish I could road trip it down there and just mix in with all those Pace Cars...

Now I'm waiting for the Die Cast to come out...

Do you know of any plans to release a Die Cast 2010 Indy Pace Car? If so, what scale? I bought the Hot Wheels Camaro Indy Pace Car from the 2009 race while I was at Pole Day but I am hoping they will come out with a 1:18th scale of this years Pace Car and last years in order to match my '67, '69, & '82. Unfortunately, no one ever produced a 1:18th scale '93 Indy Pace Car.

HMMMM Wish I did know something... I thought they just did it for all of them since. Figured it wasn't ready yet....

Thanks! While I have been to the Indy 500, Brickyard 400, and F1 race there, I had never gone to Pole Day. I was really impressed with all the access provided for just a ten dollar general admission ticket. Good Times!! On race days you are basically stuck in your seat but on Pole Day we got to go everywhere and the Camaros were icing on the cake!

Agreed. Pole Day or Qualifying is the best time to go to get behind the scenes and see everything. Went to Brickyard 400 qualifying in '95 and met Mark Martin, Rusty Wallace and Kyle Petty on a GA ticket. Mark and Kyle both took some time to talk to us.

You'll never have this kind of access at an ISC or SMI owned track for a NASCAR race unless you have connections or $$. This is what makes IMS unique and special.

BTW, nice cooler. I have one similiarly decorated.
