Price Quote: 2010 ABM 2SS/RS

Hey Guys,
what do you think is a good price for a use (cert pre-owned) 2010 ABM 2SS/RS 6M with sunroof?
I am looking at 2 different ones. one has about 2k the other about 4k miles. they are priced at 37k and 36k respectively.

from what i am seeing around here I am thinking about offering 32K but dont need them to laugh at me either...especially since they arent local cars (id have to drive a couple hours to go check them out)

if I could get one for 30k I would do it asap but doubt they would drop that low...

thanks in advance for the input

can you help justify that? if I say that to a car dealership they are going to counter with they are selling for 38-40k.

Im not trying to be an ass like I said i would like to be armed with as much info as possible before I take a ride to maybe buy one.

as far as I can see (according to the price sheet on this site) MSRP on a 2SS is 33,430.00 then add the RS package (1,200) and sunroof (900)
thats 35,530.
not sure if that sheet is accurate or not but I see ads online for most 2SS' in the 38K range new.

what could be considered a good guage of decreased value for a used car? I know they are going to claim it being pre-owned cert as practically new, etc.

thanks again for the input

I just bought my 2SS/RS from a person, not a dealer, it had 2.5k no sunroof and I paid 32.

Go ahead and make the offer! Nothing to lose.

If they laugh at you then you probably don't want to do business with them anyway.

Any time an offer is placed on the table that's a good thing. You can work from there.

Good luck with the purchase!

You do exactly what you just did. Print up a price sheet or just write it down just like you did in this post and ask them why they are selling it so high. Tell them that you did price a new one and tell them that. Your not trying to low ball them just want to get a fair deal and your not getting it at that price!

I don't think $32K is a bad offer. Black book trade in value on a 2SS is a little higher than $32K right now, so they probably paid at least that for the vehicle and then got the $750 certification bill after that, so don't be surprised if they don't accept it. It's all part of negotiating though. You start low, they start high, you meet somewhere in the middle (hopefully more towards your side).

They are selling them @ that price because it's ABM - I wouldn't expect them to come off those prices much. Offer $32 but don't be shocked when they say no.

Even if there is a 1% increase for 2011's, I will be paying about $35k (pre-tax) for my ordered 2SS/RS w/Sunroof.

What would be (person in his right mind) the reason to give up a great car for $32,000.00? Guess there's more money on this sight than there are brains. Pay $40,000.00 and less than a year you loose $8000.00. That's less that trade in price. I know I've offered mine for sale and I'd never sell it for under $39,000.00. To much work in it w/mods, paint, trim, and more. Call me crazy, but I've been called a lot worse.

There are many being sold (not specifically with a sunroof but 2SS/RS) for 32-34k, on this site alone.

not sure where you get 40k from? the car that I am looking for brand new is 35,530. MSRP. so 32 for a used one seems reasonable to me?

I don't understand this post at all. He's not selling his car, he's asking advice about making an offer on two cars for sale.

I don't know the specs of the $40k camaro which you refer to, but he's asking about a 2SS/RS w/sunroof. If anyone paid $40k for that then they would be the one with more money than brains.

Since I ordered a 2011 with these exact specs, and am paying invoice ($34,795 if no increase), $32k for a used one seems like a reasonable offer to me.

2010 2SS/RS w/Sunroof = 36,895 MSRP. I still think $32k is fair...that said because only 3600 ABM's were made, I doubt they will accept your offer. Good Luck!

Im seeing the same preices for the ABM... It sucks im not spending more that 30K on a 4K+ mile USED camaro... 32K isnt a bad offer but I would really hold to it and not go a penny more.

My 2SS/RS CGM M6, Stripes, Sunroof, OTD - $36,300 (after discounts and $1k down payment). The only option(s) I didn't get was: $1200 Automatic, $2250 Ground Effects, $350 for Red Paint).
Dealer said it lost $5k as soon as I drov eit off the lot. A guy on another thread found two ABM's )I just saw it 5 mins ago..

Good luck in your search. Hope you get what you're looking for.
