Getting really annoying!!

There are 2 things that I keep noticing happening on a regular basis. People driving crazy to catch up to you , then wanting to race. I DON"T RACE!! I have seen what happens when things go bad.

And why is it that when I come to a stop, people have to be 6 inches behind my car. I don't know if it is because I have a 6m now, but I am tempted to roll back into them if I didn't love me car so much. I am glad people like the car just let us enjoy it. Okay, I feel better now!! Thanks

LOL, I don't have mine yet (2 weeks) but when I drive my old '66 Coronet around I know exactly how you feel :(. I can't count how many near accidents I have been in from people staring at it. I don't care if you stare, but please stare with your foot on the brake .

I know what you mean too. I had a 2SS/RS M6 out for a test drive on Friday and had to stop at a light on an uphill and started to get paranoid about rolling back. I ended up stalling it but once I got her started I just let her rip. Still fun to drive though!

lol... its fun to race =D Nah jk, i don't do it. My car isn't even broken in. But here is the funny thing, depending on the car, you can make them feel like nothing lol. ESPECIALLY when it comes to up hill battles (no pun intended). I have this Hill that runs up for about 1 mile near my place. When cars sprint past me on the Flat roads, I leave them be. But man oh man... the Camaro, and I'm a V6 btw, can TEAR up those hills. Especially on a lower gear. I blast right past them lol... you can hear their engines cry while climing up... their RPMs getting higher, but speed is dropping. HOWEVER! When i get my car broken in, I will be a bit faster... I'm not going to lie... I take some joy in outrunning cars that want to challenge me. Funny thing is... it's always old ladies who want to beat me @_@ Old ladies in some old sedan lol.

I seem to get the people that get next to me and stare but don't realize they are coasting in to my lane until I hit the horn and give them a look. Then I get the nod like they approve of the car. I keep saying someone is gonna run me off the road because they are mesmerized. I really hope that doesn't happen!

i kindly oblige them when they think that coasting next to me is a good idea by dropping a gear and loudly leave them coasting behind me or just slow down........

That is very annoying. If they get rear ended, the domino effect begins

You will get used to the "rubberneckers". The folks that are behind you probably are farther away than you think. Whenever I am backing out of my garage and I get out of the car to see how far I am from the wall, I am always much farther away than it seemed by looking out of the rear window. You cannot see the end of the Camaro.
As for the street racing, it depends where we are. If we are out in the boonies, stopped at a light, and I think that your car is competitive, them maybe. I never do the bullshit highway passing game unless I am on my Harley and you are on a sport bike. Then I will hold my Harley at 100 mph and make the sport bike go faster than me to stay ahead. They usually either give up or get to converse with Mr. John Law. No lectures please on the racing please.

Oh. My. God.

EVERYTIME I come to a stoplight, i look in my rearview and i can barely see the hood of the car sitting behind me because they're so damn close. Do these people think they're getting to their destination faster by nearly riding on top of my car?

I don't mind folks looking at the car. Expected that, you don't see these every day (unlike a mustang or challenger). What I see a lot of is passing someone and you can see them checking the car out in the side mirror. Then they slowly start to drift in your lane!!! Where the eyes go, the body follows, or hands on the wheel in this case. Love this car.

I don't have people trying to race. For one, who in their right mind is going to pick a race with a woman driver? .. And two, they'd have to catch me first.

I do have SUV's and oversized pickup's that stop on my bumper at traffic lights though. I think I just notice it more driving stick, and yeah... I think SUV's & pickup's tend to be more aggressive on the road. Driving closer to the car in front and trying to "push" traffic.

What I do think is kinda funny, is there seems to be a lot of little cars with big fart can mufflers around here. This might be all my imagination, but when I'm driving my other vehicle it seems the drivers put their foot in it and make the exhaust blat(or whatever you call that annoying noise). But when I'm driving the Camaro, not so much fart can action going on. Makes me wonder if they recognize what the "SS" on my grill means and concede to the bigger dog. ??

The SUV and pickup "push the traffic" goes on around here too. They want you to speed and be the chicken that gets picked off by the cops instead of them. I usually wait for a good place and let them pass me. Like magic, they see the light and slow down to near the limit, and it is usually slower than I was going. The fart can folks around can't tell the difference between an SS and a six cylinder and do not really want to race, what they want is to make you put your foot into it and put on a show for them.

Tend to agree with you on the fart can folks not knowing(caring) about what "SS" is, or what it means on the Camaro. But jeeez... I ain't no dog and pony show! (For that last line I give my appologies to every English grammer teacher I've ever had.)

THIS is what I hate. Drivers in other cars looking over at mine start drifting into me or off the shoulder. Happens all the time.

The only ones I really get wanting to race are ricers and a couple of old (early 90's) Mustangs. Anything equal, or higher powered (Corvette's, Vipers, and a guy in a blown 40's hot rod) generally leave me alone and simply yell out a compliment. Those damn Civics and the like though... wicked.

That's something that really drives me crazy. I'm all about switching up leaders. I'll take the lead at 130- 140km's for a few miles, then I pull over, and you in the SUV take it, run it for a few miles, then you pull over and the Beamer takes it for a while, then you pull over and the punk in the Civic takes the lead (this is where the boys in blue show up!).

If I can't drive with the like, I'll cut my speed WAY back and force them to pass. It'll suprise me sometimes though how long some stay behind you even when you do slow right down.

Had a great run from Banff to Calgary with a guy on a Spyder. We'd cruise between 120 and 140km's, switching up leaders, great run!

I have fun with them. I gently speed up and when they catch up I slow down, when they hit the brakes/slow down, I speed up again. (slinky effect). Most of the time I just wave and drive (mostly) normal. I have had moments of stupidity, fun but stupid. I get more looks and ooohs and aaahhhs from older folks than I though I would. The young kids are typical, you know I'm sure "Rad car dude", how fast does it go, I mean bitchin man. I can remember doing the same type of things when I was their age, especially if I saw a Lambo, or Jag, porsche, etc. In small town Upstate Ny these were hardly ever seen. Seeing a vette was still a rare thing then too.
