No rust. After the install they had an orange color to them. I'm not sure if it was something they applied to the rotors or what.

Well the premium rotors do come with a black rust protection coating applied to the center hub, inner vane structure, and outer rim of rotor. That will hold off the rusting quite well, however no iron rotor out there is an anti rust proof. I apologize but if there is going to be any rust appearance on the rotors; it should be around the crevices of the holes and the slots or close around the hub (where the brake pads can't come into contact with to swoop the rust away). Easy fix up (if it matters to you) for that is to spray the rotors entirely with any type of high temp spray paint. Set it dry and install, let you brake pads do the rest of the job by taking off the excess of paint. Everywhere else will stay black.

Installed my new R1 Concepts rotors and Hawk ceramic brake pads today. Love the way they look! Install was easy except for having to re-do one of the rear wheels because the holes and slots were not the same as the front. Thank goodness I had not yet put the tire on before I noticed my mistake

LOL, well even though technically will do no harm in the performance or wear. I would switch it to match too. Thank you

No, after a couple drives (or the break in period), all paint will be burnt off. PM sent, thanks.

Thanks

Which style of rotor provides the best stopping power?

I'm thinking about the drilled and slotted, but I don't know...

For what the rotors can do for braking, slots is the way to go. So either slotted only or drilled and slotted or dimple and slotted.

Thanks
Steven

I need your best deal on drilled and slotted with HAWK HPS pads for SS. Zip Code 82009. I also read a post by you that stated one could use high temp paint on the rotors and that the brake pads will rub them off. Should I just use my old brake pads to do this or my new HAWK pads?

Thanks!

You can just use the new pads, all the paint should rub off by the end of the brake-in period (300-500 miles). PM sent, thanks.
