Sorry to interrupt the videos (and the beer one was great) - we'll be there Thursday night, too. Taking the red-eye Wed night from Denver to JFK or Boston, then up to Buffalo (on standby - son works for JetBlue). Gonna try to get by Niagara Falls since we've never been there, then will need a little sleep after being up for over 30 hours. Could be the last serious sleep for the weekend.

We will also be going to Niagara Falls before Camarovanning to Oshawa. It would be nice if maybe we could meet up while You are there.

I didn't realize there would be a gathering on Thursday night, so I didn't book the hotel for that night. I am planning on traveling on Thursday, staying overnight (somewhere near Flint), and getting in Friday morning.

Let me clarify in case you missed it! I am from south Louisiana and I am part Cajun (Nova Scotia, grandmother) thus the connection and French (great grandfather came from France when he was a teen) and Choctaw Indian (grandfather).

That is your history lesson for the day!

Oh boy. A Cajun, and a couple of french Canadians. My wife might like this. Her mom lived in Paris when she was younger, and her great Aunt still lives there.

She will probably say things to you like I kiss the car goodnight in French.

Cajun French is a bit different and I was around it a lot when I was small, but not so much as I grew, so I can't speak french. But when I attend a family reunion, some members do and I love it!

Here are some examples of common phases and very close to French:

* Ca c'est bon- That's good!
* C'est magnifique- That is great!
* Mon cher- My dear.
* Fais-do-do- An Acadian dance.
* Lagniappe- Something extra, similar to a bonus.
* Laisser les bons temps rouler- Let the good times roll!
* Bonjour Mes Amis- Good day my friends.
* Merci Beaucoup- Thank you very much.

Oh great it's already starting and I'm not even there. I suppose that is just for you. I know that making fun of us "American's" is a past time, and it is all in good fun.
