The cues are all there, and people who care would know what it was even without badges (ignore the people from the "What is the stupidest thing people have said about your Camaro thread) yet you wouldn't mistake it for being anything other than a 2010 model either. The Challenger, on the other hand, shows zero originality or modernity. It looks stuck in the past. The Camaro aged well, with confidence, knowing it was great in the past, and is still great now. The Challenger, on the other hand, is Uncle Rico.
I total respect that, but to me copy means bring back chrome bumper, door handle and such. I like the fact that the Challenger brings back the classic style and yes is more like the original then the Camaro for sure. Some of my friends like that fact other could care less. It really doesn't bother me as much, but I total respect your opinion even if we differ.

Well, here is a sketch I did a few days ago of a Chevelle Concept. If tried to follow the Camaro's formula of having visual retro cues (in this case, the grille and headlamps), but keeping a modern stance to it. I'm actually doing a full colored concept on my computer right now. If anyone read my post in the "What do you do thread", I mentioned that I was thinking about becoming a designer. I've had no formal classes on Vehicular Graphics, just 2 years of High School Level art, but this will give you a look into how I draw up a concept car.

So, do you love it, like it, or hate it? Be honest. As an art student, I'm use to "constructive criticism and critiquing". What would you like me to keep in it? What do you want to see changed or removed?

Looks pretty good, but the back end needs some work, looks a little squished together.

OK tying to be constructive , Looks like a cross between a 2010 Camaro and Mustang. Not really feeling it, But I can't draw anything other then a stick figure so a lot better then I could do.

I see way too much 2004 - 2009 Saleen Mustang in there. You definitely need more details on there if you wanna make it look apart. Other then that looks pretty badass.

Here's my 2 minute drawing...was supposed to be a Camaro but I guess it could work as a Chevelle too, lol.

Lemme know what you guys think. Sorry about the darkness, as you can tell from the shadow of my hand, I don't have a scanner. I had to take a picture of the paper.

hm, i just don't see much chevelle in that drawing (though I WILL give you props on your skills, i can't draw for crap!).

Now I don't think it should look EXACTLY like the original, but take a page from the 5th Gen Camaro's book and modernize it while maintaining some of the signature looks it had.

I would love to see a Chevelle. IMO (reference to the picture in the post before mine) the car looks a bit too much of a luxury vehicle. If it was badged as something other than a Chevelle - it would be perfect. When I hear "Chevelle" or "Camaro", I think BAD ASS. Basically - This car needs something tweaked so it looks more Chevelle instead of luxury.

Looks to me like it could be a 2003-2009 Camaro

1st i agree that the impala will never be dropped from the lineup (its lasted the longest in their lineup of all time)
2nd the one problem that i see is the malibu because the chevelle is essencaly the malibu (malibu was a trim package on the chevelle until chevy dropped the chevelle name for malibu in 78, like they did with the chevy II/Nova in the 60s)
with all that aside a new chevelle would be bad ass and take its place as the camaro's big brother (with a brand new 454http://www.camaro5.com/forums/images/smilies/chevy.gif)

I can't finda any pics right now, but a good chevelle would be the Impala concept they had when it was gonna share the Zeta platform with the Camaro....man how I wish that had come to light.

I love this. It really looks muscular and bulky in the front end especially, and that translates into exactly what the Chevelle was all about, big power, big size, big everything. MUSCLE.

No, that would be the Corvette. Debuted before the Impala and only skipped 1 year of sales (there was a few dozen 1983 Corvettes built, so technically it's been in continual production since 1953) while there was about a decade skipped between the mid 70's and mid 80's plus another pause from the mid 90's until the year 2000. And with Chevrolets current lineup, the Malibu nameplate resurfaced in 1997, a few years before they brought back the Impala.

Guys what would a NEW Chevrolet Chevelle SS Concept look like???

BIGGER THAN A CAMARO, AND MORE ATTITUDE. I always thought the Chevelle looked like it had more Attitude.

Chevelle is under heavy consideration by G.M.. 2014 is the expected year. Only problem. BADGE ONLY!!! No muscle!!! Concept is mid size sedan. FUGLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If this turd does come out it will totaly discredit GM. I may have to switch my 34 year loyalty. G.M. Is coming out with junk and we are settling for it. By the way. I love the chevelle concept car they made out of the G6. I would buy it as it stands, as long as it has the LQ1

i agree with the general concensus. They wont drop the impala. they dont need another muscle car right now(as much as id love to see one), and they are NOT going to drop the camaro, espeicially after only 5 years. if they do bring back another classic muscle someday, it will probably be the chevelle, but if they do the same thing with the chevelle as they did with GTO(looks like a POS ricer), or even the charger(looks decent except for the 4-door thing- tht just ruins it) then A LOT of ppl will be mad for ruining the good name of a classic.

GM did great with the camaros styling, bring back some of the old to mix with the good of the new. if they did the same kinda thing with the chevelle, that wud be great. but i doubt that is going to happen unless they come up with a better way to get massive amounts of power for what wud then be 3 performance cars(corvette, camaro, chevelle) with much better gas mileage. CAFE standards may suck, but they exist, and we cant just ignore them just 'cause we want another classic back. we got the camaro again. im happy with that.

Congrats, you officially have no idea what you're talking about, and everything I have heard about the 2013 Zeta-based sedan completely contradicts everything you just said.

Chevelle concept car? What Chevelle concept car? G6? Fail.

And there is no such thing as an L6 or L7 engine code within GM.

I say bring back a chevelle that looks like the old one, so we can pit it against the chally

A lot of people bought the challenger based on looks and size, and if we have a chevelle that looks like the old one, well you know what'll happen.
