This topic is close to home for me. I just sold my 2001 M6 Camaro SS on thursday & I'm not regretting it one bit, because I had it for 3years & the only reason I kept it, is because I knew I was going to get me a 5th Gen Camaro. Now I'm in the market to buy one & I plan on keeping mine until the end of time. I've always loved the 1st gen & this is just the best of both worlds.

I hope I never have to part ways with my 2010 Camaro. Never felt so content with a car.

I dont plan on ever getting rid of mine now but you never know what GM might offer down the road. If they offer a LS9 in the camaro then there is a great chance i might upgrade or just buy another.

When I first went to the dealer. I originally expected to purchase a Z/28 model. So, obviously I had to purchase the 2SS LS3 etc... I am very, very happy with it... Damn thing is quick........ I tend to hold on to my cars for a long time and I take care of them. I still have my 1982 C-3 Corvette. only 70,000 miles But it doesn't have the get and go like the Camaro does. Damn thing is Quick........ So, if its paid off, or there abouts. I will keep it for a long time. But, If I get the chance to upgrade to a Z/28 real soon. I will sell it. And purchase the Z/28. That I will hold on too... Hers my girl... She likes to flirt, But, don't get any ideas.

[QUOTE=LS3 SS;1916112]I do believe I will keep mine. It is my first new car that I actually had built for me, so it does have sentimental value to me.QUOTE]

I concur, its my first high performance car, or any car for that matter, that I ordered. Its not as flashy as some I have seen on here but it has exactly what I want in it. Some people I know that just went to the dealer and bought off the floor are already wanting a 2011 "HUD". I will keep mine thank you.

This is my 12th camaro and I love it, but if the z/28 comes and is not out of range, price wise, I will trade up.

I find this a very interesting question. I have never owned a car more than ten years. Had a 1986 Monte Carlo SS for 10 years, and had a 1996 Impala SS for 10 years. Ask me again around 2020. I should make my mind by then. Should have about 100k on the odometer by then too.

Sell ?

That's kind of an unfair question for me. I typically don't sell my cars.

My 2nd ride is a 2000 Jeep Wrangler 4x4 convertible. I've had it since new (factory order just like my Camaro) and plan on keeping it forever since I love it and the after-market is pretty strong, just like the Camaro's.

Before the Jeep I had a 1989 Mazda for 12 years. I bought it new from the dealer network. Eventually I gave that to charity for a nice tax credit before the IRS ruined the tax benefit of donating a car.

Motorcycles I've traded in for newer/better models, but I always got raped on the deal. Lesson learned.

I think I'll be keeping the LS quite a few years or at least until my son becomes of driving age in 10 or so years.... I regretted getting rid of two cars my 68 327 Camaro and 67 GTO

I sold my second gen to get this fifth gen and even though I do miss my 75 4 Speed Muncie equipped V8 350, I really prefer my 2LT for daily driving. WIth my new 6 Speed manual, the fantastic handling and modern safety features I love driving it every day! I will probably trade her in in a few years against an SS convertible, once my tweeny kids are no longer needing lots of stuff hauled about in this coupe, it really is quite versatile!

I will end up keeping at least 1 Camaro in the family, but if I make enough cash in the next few years I will seek out another second gen, probably my favorite year 70 1/2!

All the best!

I plan on keeping my 2SS/RS unless the Z/28 is to tempting to resist. I had a 73 LT1 in High School that I always regretted selling. It was Metallic midnight blue with Cragars! She was in my year book twice LOL

I will never trade in my inaugural return year of the Camaro: 2010
I could of saved up for another year to get the SS but it wasnt really practical since it will be slowly turned into a daily driver and i really didnt want to wait. So i am happy with the v6 power/economy balance that it has and equipped with the manual, no other experience like it

--2010 year, first car ive ordered, first manual ive ever owned--

This is Chris(my disclaimer) Well, I hope that Tina never gets rid of her Camaro. I really don't think she ever will. Tina had a shrine to this Generation right after they announced it being made. She used to work for a Chevy Dealer before her surgery. We went and test drove every style of Camaro we could find. I am so glad I was able to get her, HER Camaro, this past Mothers' Day while I was on Mid-Tour leave, before I had to go back.
Reasons to keep this Generation:
1. It is the first one made after being discontinued
2. It is based on First Generation
3. Made very close to the Concept
4. Very well made car
5. Gets very good gas mileage
6. Won't be on the same Zeta platform again
7. Quality starts to diminish over time, because the novelty is lost.
I have never sold one, but I have wrecked one. My Dads 1987 Camaro sleeper. An IROC-Z with an RS body (Special Order). He let it go after that, and when he finally sold it, it was the right thing to do at the moment.

Who's gonna actually keep their car"?

This will be my second Camaro, and yes I (we) will keep it until I HAVE to sell the Nickey Chicago TT IOM!

My first Camaro was a new 1969 Z/28 in Hugger Orange with White stripes, four speed, console with black interior. First mod was Hooker headers then 4:11 rear gears, bigger Holley carb. Hell yes I regreat letting go of the 50,000 original mi. 290 HP ram air factory performance car. Especially since it went for a price tag of $2250.00 in 1974! I still try to reach my butt with either foot!
