Sooooo.. I got keyed.

Alright heres the story, 8 am - waking up preparing for a fun day of paintball, swimming, and boating.
9 am - Park at Scheels Sporting goods to pick up some parts for my paintball guns, I parked way in the back and took up 2 spots for protectiong, there were total of 2 cars in the parking lot when i arrived and 5 when i left. Took the picture about 5 miles down

9:20 am - In a hurry to meet everyone else (my friends with me) i just open the door jump in as i get ready to roll down my window, i see spit all over my driver side window, but i roll it down anyway, driving about a few miles away i start thinking normaly people dont mess with your car unless they really mess with it, so i pulled over and we inspected, it all looked ok untill i got back to my driver side door and seen 2 scratchs about 8 inches long under the door handle, i about exploded, i called the mall/scheels to see if they have security camera's (Of course they do not) so i am pretty well screwed and will have to spend 250$ on my deductable!

on another note, paintball sucked, my paintball gun had so many problems its not funny, so the story is this, im selling my entire paintball gun collection, guns, and equipment and some of that is going to take care of the car... It bites thats 250$ that could have went somewhere else.

But i will look on the bright side and say im glad they didnt run it all the way down the fenders door and it all, but in so many words they are lucky i wasnt walking out when they did it, because it would have been a freaking bloodbath.

Hope you guys dont ever experience this.

some people just don't care about how many cars are in the parking lot. they'll do it on pricipal and because they're douches regardless, but that said, i wouldn't have taken up two spots.

I take up two spots all of the time in the corner of the parking lot, if not i have some dickwad parks right next to me and as close as possible (just for the hell of it). I have had so many door dings in my old car from people like that. Now since i park in two spots i have never had a problem, and if i notice the parking lot getting full I will park it correctly.

If there was no one in the parking lot he had the right to take up three spots. It wasn't his fault, and if someone didn't like it then they should have said something.
They have no right keying his car when he had no intention of causing harm. It was probably someone who was just jealous of your car. If people where you live are keying your car for parking in two spot's in an empty parking lot then that sucks. It's not like he is taking the front two parking spots. He was parking in the back of an empty parking lot.

Unfortunately I was just about to post someone throwing my eggs at my car in the movie theater parking lot. And i was parked perfectly in one spot. I think it has to do with just idiots who don't care about other people's property.

Also, I hate how people automatically assume that they keyed him because of how he parked. Do you think that if he drove a Lamborghini and parked it the same way, that it would have been vandalized in the same manor? I doubt it.

But in all honesty, who knows what goes through these lowlife's minds when they pull this kind of idiocy. I sure as heck don't.

Agreed. There are just idiots out there who feel that just because you drive that car, that it means you are making fun of them. My best friend drove a Porsche, and as he was walking out of the store to buy some groceries, a couple of guys came up to him and started calling him names like ****ing rich boy and you think your so cool cause you have that car. Luckily me and some other friends were all there with him in our cars, but people are just dumb. He didn't even say or do anything to them.

I've never keyed someone, but more than once... when looking at some pompous dude parking across the lines... I've thought, "Man, what an @$$".

This has happened REPEATEDLY, as communicated by this forum. Be a responsible parker. Yeah, I know... there was no one else in the parking lot. Then there's THAT GUY at the back covering two or three parking spots. It draws attention, and NOT the type of attention you want. Never, never, never do this. I have been parking my rides for " 40 " yrs in the back of lots and wrap on wood I have never had any problems. I think that is a pretty good record. If you are going to park way in the back, most lots now have larger parking spots you can park with your Left or right front wheel just inside one line and the opposite rear wheel just inside the other line, Your only in one spot but also on a angle, if you know what I mean, that way the only way you could get a ding in your car from another car door is they would have to park on the same angle you are, about the scratches, I hope you catch the bastard some how.

i park at least 250 ft away from the nearest emty spot and ALWAYS park diag across 2 spaces except at xmas time when the lots fill up...never had a problem , maybe its my small nra sticker in window. there are 250 empty spaces between my car and the business. someone would have to seriously go out of there way to get near my ride..if breathing is not important to them than i guess that is fate...but by no means do i ever park to inconvenience anyone .

Why would someone hate how he parked if he is in no ones way, he is not bothering anyone. What would you say to the people who have gotten keyed or door dinged for parking all the way in the back of a parking lot in one spot?. I have heard just as many people having problems with that then being parked in two spots.

Also I am not trying to start an argument just trying to have a good ol conversation.

lol wow im getting alot of hate for parking in 2 spots at the far end of the parking lot, Considering i do not take up 2 spots in the middle of the day ANYWHERE, but i figured it was 9 am, i was in a hurry yet i still parked at the end of the lot, i mean come on 9 am and people still have to pull that shit... i was gone for no more then 15 minutes... anyway il get over it, shit happens in life, you just repaint it an move on.

And here's my advice on parking. Don't stand out. Parking diagonal in an empty parking lot is like saying "look at me, over here!!"

As for the "only a Camaro thing"... I actually do think it's more of a Camaro issue than it would be a $100K+ Lambo issue. People think they can get away with this crap because it's a 20-30k car. To walk up to a $100K car and do the same thing, you are literally risking being shot! (The irony is... there are alot of Camaro owners packing heat... and one of these bastards are gonna get caught pulling that sh*t some day.)

Sorry Man. This is a total lack of respect. PERIOD. Taking up 2 parking spots is not "asking for it to happen". IMO anyway. The fact is someone simply doesnt have respect for others, or their property. Hmmm, maybe the culprit needs another "time out" session!!!!!!!
