Does anyone know if the time on the system will be for a set period of time or can it be adjusted, for those cold winter mornings? Thanks

You mean how long it stays on before turning itself off? Isn't it like 10 minutes or so?

10 minutes is PLENTY of time for a car to warm up to a nice toasty warm. Even on the coldest days.

I think it would make sense that if you left them on when you turned the car off, they'll come on when you turn the car on.

the car will have sensors so it if it is over 85 degrees it will turn on the AC if it is under 50 (or so) degrees it turns on the heater and the heated seats.....

the system runs for 10 minutes before turning off, you can then cycle it and run for another 10 minutes before you will have to then physically put the key in the ignition to start it again.

I double checked with my salesman and he told me the same thing, but said 74 for the AC, so maybe they aren't sure either

Yes, you can. Not factory on the Camaro, but I had a manual truck with Remote Start. I went aftermarket.....

I got is as a christmas present when i was 16. Not sure of the exact brand(that I had), or how to install it. It was 6 or 7 years ago.
Im getting the LS3, and if I didnt have a garage I would just install this and keep the starter in the house and not keep it on the key ring. I think with the switch blade key and the remote starter it would be way too bulky. But it would be nice and toasty when I got in the camaro in the winter.
Again just to clarify, this is NOT the system I had in my truck. Not sure of the quality, but with some research you can definately find a good one. I had NO problems with mine. It also made alot of sweet sounds, e.g. when I would lock it, it sounded like a Benz or high price car.... Kind of stupid to have on a 98 Ford F150.....

once again, headpunter is correct and nearly dead on.
My Silverado 2500 HD has remote start and functions this way.
I haven't checked the actual thresholds, however, my heater came on today with an outdoor temp of 58 degrees.

I think the thresholds may be 60 and 85. I'll keep checking and update more later.

I can say for sure that it doesn't matter what your last settings were which is nice.(usually have A/C on at end of day, but need heat in morning)

Also, in addition to heated seats, heat and window defrost, the mirrors and rear defogger activate as well.

most after market remote starts can do it,it just needs another module.You would have to exit the car and shut all doors,the with the remote disable the engine.If the door were opened before the remote start was enable ,it would not start.I had an autopage in my 92 Z28 and it worked great,It's a two way so the remote gives a vibrating and audio alert if something is triggered.It will also show what zone was triggered.

Have your garage or have the car in your garage???

Mine will be in the garage at the beginning of the day, but remote start is awesome when leaving work, etc after sitting outside for several hours.

I use my remote start ALL THE TIME.

I'm definately getting the manual, so I'll be shopping for an aftermarket remote start and security system.

Do you think I could find something that does everything GM's system does and has a really nice alarm system packed with it? I'd pay top dollar for a good system. Thanks for the help.
